[우리말성경]제3장
모든 것에는 때가 있음
1. 모든 것에는 시기가 있고 하늘 아래 모든 일에는 목적에 따라 때가 있으니
2. 태어날 때와 죽을 때가 있고, 심을 때와 뿌리째 뽑을 때가 있고,
3. 죽일 때와 치료할 때가 있고, 허물 때와 세울 때가 있고,
4. 울 때와 웃을 때가 있고, 슬퍼할 때와 춤출 때가 있고,
5. 돌을 던질 때와 모을 때가 있고, 품을 때와 멀리할 때가 있고,
6. 찾을 때와 포기할 때가 있고, 간직할 때와 던져 버릴 때가 있고,
7. 찢을 때와 꿰맬 때가 있고, 입 다물 때와 말할 때가 있고,
8. 사랑할 때와 미워할 때가 있고, 전쟁의 때와 평화의 때가 있다.
9. 사람이 열심히 일해서 얻는 것이 무엇인가?
10. 내가 보니 그것은 하나님께서 사람들에게 주신 고통이었다.
11. 하나님은 모든 것을 그분의 때에 아름답게 만드시고 사람들의 마음속에 영원을 사모하는 마음을 주셨다. 그러나 하나님께서 하시는 일의 처음과 끝을 다 알지는 못하게 하셨다.
12. 그저 사람은 기쁘게 살면서 선을 행하는 것보다 더 나은 것이 없다.
13. 또 사람이라면 먹고 마시고 하는 일이 잘되기를 바라는데 이것이야말로 하나님이 주시는 선물이다.
14. 또 하나님께서 하시는 일은 무엇이든 영원하다는 것도 안다. 아무것도 거기에 더할 수도 뺄 수도 없다. 하나님께서 이렇게 하시는 것은 사람으로 하여금 하나님을 경외하게 하려는 것이다.
15. 예전에 있었던 일이 지금도 있고 앞으로 일어날 일도 이미 있었던 것이다. 하나님께서는 지나간 일을 또 되풀이하신다.
16. 게다가 내가 또 해 아래에서 본 것은 심판의 자리에 악이 있고 의의 자리에 범죄가 있다는 것이다.
17. 내가 마음속으로 ‘의인들과 악인들 모두 하나님께서 심판하실 것이다. 모든 목적과 모든 일에는 때가 있기 때문이다’라고 했다.
18. 또 사람에 대해 생각했다. “하나님께서 그들이 짐승과 다름없음을 분명히 알게 하셨다.
19. 사람에게 닥치는 것이 짐승에게 닥치는 것과 같으니, 곧 같은 일이 그들에게 닥친다. 사람이 죽는 것처럼 짐승도 죽는다. 사람이나 짐승이나 목숨이 하나기는 마찬가지다. 사람이 짐승보다 더 나을 것도 없으니 모든 것이 허무하구나.
20. 모두가 한곳으로 되돌아간다. 모두가 흙에서 나왔으니 모두가 흙으로 돌아가는 것이다.
21. 사람의 영혼은 위로 올라가고 짐승의 혼은 땅속으로 내려간다고 하는데 그것을 누가 알겠는가?”
22. 이렇듯 사람이 기쁘게 자기 일을 하는 것보다 더 나은 것이 없음을 내가 알았다. 그것이 그가 받은 몫이기 때문이다. 그가 죽은 뒤에 무슨 일이 일어나는지 알고 싶다고 누가 그를 다시 데려올 수 있겠는가?
[NASB]제3장
1. There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven--
2. A time to give birth, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted.
3. A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up.
4. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
5. A time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing.
6. A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away.
7. A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; A time to be silent, and a time to speak.
8. A time to love, and a time to hate; A time for war, and a time for peace.
9. What profit is there to the worker from that in which he toils?
10. I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves.
11. He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.
12. I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one's lifetime;
13. moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor-- it is the gift of God.
14. I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has [so] worked that men should fear Him.
15. That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by.
16. Furthermore, I have seen under the sun [that] in the place of justice there is wickedness, and in the place of righteousness there is wickedness.
17. I said to myself, "God will judge both the righteous man and the wicked man," for a time for every matter and for every deed is there.
18. I said to myself concerning the sons of men, "God has surely tested them in order for them to see that they are but beasts."
19. For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is vanity.
20. All go to the same place. All came from the dust and all return to the dust.
21. Who knows that the breath of man ascends upward and the breath of the beast descends downward to the earth?
22. And I have seen that nothing is better than that man should be happy in his activities, for that is his lot. For who will bring him to see what will occur after him?

1. לכל זמן ועת לכל חפץ תחת השמים׃
2. עת ללדת ועת למות עת לטעת ועת לעקור נטוע׃
3. עת להרוג ועת לרפוא עת לפרוץ ועת לבנות׃
4. עת לבכות ועת לשחוק עת ספוד ועת רקוד׃
5. עת להשליך אבנים ועת כנוס אבנים עת לחבוק ועת לרחק מחבק׃
6. עת לבקש ועת לאבד עת לשמור ועת להשליך׃
7. עת לקרוע ועת לתפור עת לחשות ועת לדבר׃
8. עת לאהב ועת לשנא עת מלחמה ועת שלום׃
9. מה יתרון העושה באשר הוא עמל׃
10. ראיתי את הענין אשר נתן אלהים לבני האדם לענות בו׃
11. את הכל עשה יפה בעתו גם את העלם נתן בלבם מבלי אשר לא ימצא האדם את המעשה אשר עשה האלהים מראש ועד סוף׃
12. ידעתי כי אין טוב בם כי אם לשמוח ולעשות טוב בחייו׃
13. וגם כל האדם שיאכל ושתה וראה טוב בכל עמלו מתת אלהים היא׃
14. ידעתי כי כל אשר יעשה האלהים הוא יהיה לעולם עליו אין להוסיף וממנו אין לגרע והאלהים עשה שיראו מלפניו׃
15. מה שהיה כבר הוא ואשר להיות כבר היה והאלהים יבקש את נרדף׃
16. ועוד ראיתי תחת השמש מקום המשפט שמה הרשע ומקום הצדק שמה הרשע׃
17. אמרתי אני בלבי את הצדיק ואת הרשע ישפט האלהים כי עת לכל חפץ ועל כל המעשה שם׃
18. אמרתי אני בלבי על דברת בני האדם לברם האלהים ולראות שהם בהמה המה להם׃
19. כי מקרה בני האדם ומקרה הבהמה ומקרה אחד להם כמות זה כן מות זה ורוח אחד לכל ומותר האדם מן הבהמה אין כי הכל הבל׃
20. הכל הולך אל מקום אחד הכל היה מן העפר והכל שב אל העפר׃
21. מי יודע רוח בני האדם העלה היא למעלה ורוח הבהמה הירדת היא למטה לארץ׃
22. וראיתי כי אין טוב מאשר ישמח האדם במעשיו כי הוא חלקו כי מי יביאנו לראות במה שיהיה אחריו׃
