15. 왕이 이처럼 백성의 요구를 들어 주지 않았으니, 하나님께서 일이 그렇게 뒤틀리도록 시키셨던 것이다. 주님께서 이미 실로 사람 아히야를 시키셔서, 느밧의 아들 여로보암에게 하신 말씀을 이루시려는 것이었다.
16. 온 이스라엘은, 왕이 그들의 요구를 전혀 듣지 않는 것을 보고 왕에게 외쳤다. "우리가 다윗에게서 받을 몫이 무엇이냐? 이새의 아들에게서는 받을 유산이 없다. 이스라엘아, 각자 자기의 장막으로 돌아가라. 다윗이여, 이제 너는 너의 집안이나 돌보아라."그런 다음에, 온 이스라엘은 각자 자기들의 장막으로 돌아갔다.
17. 그러나 유다의 여러 성읍에 살고 있는 이스라엘 자손은 르호보암의 통치 아래에 남아 있었다.
18. 르호보암 왕이 강제노동 감독관 하도람을 이스라엘 자손에게 보내었더니, 이스라엘 자손이 그를 돌로 쳐서 죽였다. 그러자 르호보암 왕은 급히 수레에 올라서, 예루살렘으로 도망하였다.
19. 이렇게 이스라엘은 다윗 왕조에 반역하여 오늘에 이르렀다.

15. So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from God, to fulfill the word the LORD had spoken to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.
16. When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, they answered the king: "What share do we have in David, what part in Jesse's son? To your tents, O Israel! Look after your own house, O David!" So all the Israelites went home.
17. But as for the Israelites who were living in the towns of Judah, Rehoboam still ruled over them.
18. King Rehoboam sent out Adoniram, who was in charge of forced labor, but the Israelites stoned him to death. King Rehoboam, however, managed to get into his chariot and escape to Jerusalem.
19. So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.

15. 왕이 이처럼 백성들의 말을 듣지 않은 것은 여호와께서 실로 사람 아히야를 통해 느밧의 아들 여로보암에게 말씀하신 것을 이루시려고 이 일에 직접 개입하셨기 때문이었다.
16. 이스라엘 사람들은 왕이 자기들의 말을 듣지 않는 것을 보고 이렇게 외쳤다. '다윗과 그 집안을 타도하자! 이새의 아들에게서 무엇을 얻겠느냐? 자, 이스라엘 사람들아, 집으로 돌아가자! 르호보암아, 이제 너는 네 집안이나 다스려라!' 그리고서 그들은 집으로 돌아갔다.
17. 그러나 유다 지역에 사는 사람들은 르호보암을 계속 왕으로 모셨다.
18. 그 후에 르호보암왕이 사역군의 총감독관이었던 아도니람을 이스라엘 사람에게 보냈으나 그들은 그를 돌로 쳐 죽였다. 그래서 르호보암은 급히 자기 수레를 타고 예루살렘으로 도망쳐 왔다.
19. 그때부터 북쪽 이스라엘 사람들은 계속 다윗의 집안을 배척하였다.

15. So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the LORD might perform his word, which he spake by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16. And when all Israel saw that the king would not hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and we have none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents.
17. But as for the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
18. Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
19. And Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.

15. 왕이 이같이 백성의 말을 듣지 아니하였으니 이 일은 하나님께로 말미암아 난 것이라 여호와께서 전에 실로 사람 아히야로 하여금 느밧의 아들 여로보암에게 이르신 말씀을 응하게 하심이더라
16. 온 이스라엘은 왕이 자기들의 말을 듣지 아니함을 보고 왕에게 대답하여 이르되 우리가 다윗과 무슨 관계가 있느냐 이새의 아들에게서 받을 유산이 없도다 이스라엘아 각각 너희의 장막으로 돌아가라 다윗이여 이제 너는 네 집이나 돌보라 하고 온 이스라엘이 그들의 장막으로 돌아가니라
17. 그러나 유다 성읍들에 사는 이스라엘 자손들에게는 르호보암이 그들의 왕이 되었더라
18. 르호보암 왕이 역꾼의 감독 하도람을 보냈더니 이스라엘 자손이 저를 돌로 쳐 죽인지라 르호보암 왕이 급히 수레에 올라 예루살렘으로 도망하였더라
19. 이에 이스라엘이 다윗의 집을 배반하여 오늘날까지 이르니라

15. So the king did not listen to the people, for it was a turn of events from God that the LORD might establish His word, which He spoke through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16. When all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them the people answered the king, saying, "What portion do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse Every man to your tents, O Israel; Now look after your own house, David " So all Israel departed to their tents.
17. But as for the sons of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
18. Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was over the forced labor, and the sons of Israel stoned him to death. And King Rehoboam made haste to mount his chariot to flee to Jerusalem.
19. So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.
