12월 5일 스펄전 아침묵상 “구하라 그러면 너희에게 주실 것이요.” [마태복음 7장 7절]

"Ask, and it shall be given you" (Matthew 7: 7).

I know of a place in England where a ration of bread was served to every passerby who chose to ask for it.  Whoever the traveler was, he only had to knock at the door of St. Cross Hospital, and there was a ration of bread for him.  Jesus Christ so loves sinners that He has built the hospital of the cross.  Whenever a sinner is hungry he has only to knock and have his needs supplied.  Whenever a soul is black and filthy, he has but to go there and be washed.  The fountain is always full, always effective.  No sinner ever went into it and found that it could not wash away his stains.  Sins which were scarlet and crimson have all disappeared, and the sinner has been made whiter than snow.  Nothing that is good for him will be denied him.  He will have all he needs as long as he lives; and he will have an eternal heritage of glorious treasure when he enters into the joy of his Lord.  If all these things are to be had by merely knocking at mercy's door, O my soul, knock hard this morning, and ask large things of your generous Lord.  Do not leave the throne of grace until all your needs have been spread before the Lord and by faith you have a comfortable prospect that they will all be supplied.  No unbelief should hinder when Jesus promises.

요절 : "구하라 그러면 너희에게 주실 것이요"(마7:7)

나는 영국에 구하기를 원하는 모든 통행인에게 한몫의 빵이 제공되는 한 장소를 알고 있습니다. 여행 객(나그네)이 누구든 성 십자가 병원의 문을 두드려야만 합니다. 그러면 그곳엔 그(나그네)를 위한 한몫의 빵이 있습니다. 예수 그리스도는 죄인들을 이토록(너무)사랑하사 이 세상에 십자가 병원을 세우셨습니다. 어떤 죄인이나 배고플 때 그는 노크만 하면 그의 필요 물을 공급받게 됩니다. 

어떤 영혼이든 검고 더러워졌을 때에는  그곳에 가야만 씻을 수 있습니다. 그 샘은 항상 넘치고 늘 효험이 있습니다. 이제껏 그 샘에 들어가서 그의 죄의 때(얼룩)를 씻을 수 없었던 것을 발견한 죄인은 하나도 없습니다.

진홍 빛 같고 주홍 빛 같은 죄들이 모두 사라졌습니다. 죄인은 눈보다 더 희게 되었습니다. 그에게 좋은 것은 무엇이나 거절되지 않을 것입니다. 그는 그가 사는 동안 그가 필요로 하는 모든 것을 갖을 것입니다. 그리고 그가 그의 주님의 기쁨 속에 들어가면 영원한 영광의 보물을 기업으로 받을 것입니다. 이 모든 것이 다만 긍휼(자비)의 문을 두드림으로써 얻을 수 있다면, 오 나의 영혼아, 오늘 아침 세게 두드리라, 그리고 그대의 관대하신 주님께 큰 것을 구하라. 그대의 모든 필요한 것들이 주 앞에  다 아뢰어지고 그것들이 믿음에 의하여 공급될 것이라는 안심의 전망을 갖기까지 은혜의 보좌를 떠나지 마십시오.  예수님의 약속을 어떤 불 신앙으로도 방해해서는 안됩니다.
