1월 5일 스펄전 아침묵상 “그 빛이 하나님의 보시기에 좋았더라 하나님이 빛과 어두움을 나누사 ” [창세기 1장 4절]

"And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness" (Genesis 1: 4).

Light might well be good, since it sprang from that command of goodness, "Let there be light."  Physical light is said by Solomon to be sweet, but gospel light is infinitely more precious because it reveals eternal things.  It also ministers to our immortal natures.  When the Holy Spirit gives us spiritual light and opens our eyes to behold the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, we behold sin in its true colors and ourselves in our real position.  We see the Most Holy God as He reveals Himself, the plan of mercy as He proposed it, and the world to come as the Word describes it.  Spiritual light has many beams and prismatic colors.  Whether they are knowledge, joy, holiness, or life, they are all divinely good.  O Lord, give us more of Yourself, the true light.  No sooner is there a good thing in the world, than a division is necessary.  Light and darkness have no communion.  God has divided them; let us not change them.  Sons of light must not have fellowship with deeds, doctrines, or deceits of darkness.  The children of the day must be sober, honest, and bold in their Lord's work, leaving the works of darkness to those who will dwell in it forever.  Our churches should, by discipline, divide the light from the darkness.  We, by our distinct separation from the world, should do the same.  O Lord Jesus, be our light throughout this day, for Your light is the light of men.

제목 : 빛과 어둠

요절 : "그 빛이 하나님의 보시기에 좋았더라 하나님이 빛과 어두움을 나누사"(창1:4)

"빛이 있으라"(역자주1)고하신 하나님의 선하신 명령으로 빛이 생겨났으니 좋을 수밖에 없습니다.(당연히 좋습니다)

솔로몬은 물리적 빛을 아름답다고 말했습니다. 그러나 복음의 빛은 영원한 것을 계시하기 때문에 무한히 더 귀중한 것입니다. 복음의 빛은 죽을 수밖에 없는 우리의 본성을 위하여 생명을 창조하는 역사를 합니다.

성령께서 우리에게 영적 빛(복음의 빛)을 주사 예수 그리스도의 얼굴 안에 나타난 하나님의 영광을 볼 수 있게 우리의 눈을 여실 때 우리는 그 본래의 색깔대로 죄를 보게 되고 우리자신을 우리의 실상대로 보게 됩니다. 또 우리는 지존 자이신 하나님을 하나님 자신이 계시하신대로 보며, 하나님이 계획하신대로 그 긍휼의 계획을 보며, 말씀(the Word)이 기록한 대로 장차 올 세상을 보게 됩니다. 영적 빛은 많은 빛살(광선)과 스펙트럼의 색상(일곱가지 무지개 색깔)을 갖고 있습니다. 그 색상(또는 빛살)은 지식이든, 기쁨이든, 거룩함이든, 생명이든, 그것들은 모두 하늘에서 오는 선입니다. 오 주님, 참 빛이신 주님자신의 더 많은 빛을 우리에게 주시옵소서. 

그런데 이 세상에서 이렇게 좋은 빛이 창조되자마자 나눔(division)은 필연적입니다. 즉 빛과 어둠은 사귐이 없습니다. 그래서 하나님은 빛과 어두움을  나누었습니다. 우리는 그들의 나눔을 변화시키지 맙시다. 빛의 아들들은 어둠의 행실, 어둠의 교리, 어둠의 책략(사기)과 관계(교제)해서는 안됩니다.

어둠의 일들은 어둠가운데 영원히 거할 자들에게 남겨두고, 낮의 자녀들은 자신들의 주님의 일에 근신하며 정직하고 담대해야 합니다.

우리들의 교회들은 기율(discipline)에 의하여 빛과 어둠을 나누어야 합니다. 우리도 세상과 분명한 분리를 함으로써 똑 같은 일을 해야 합니다. 오 주 예수님, 오늘 내내 우리의 빛이 되시옵소서  주님의 빛은 사람들의 빛이기 때문입니다.(역자주1)
