3월 8일 스펄전 아침묵상 “우리가 하나님 나라에 들어가려면 많은 환난을 겪어야 할 것이라.”[사도행전 14장 22절]

"We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God" (Acts 14: 22).

God's people have their trials.  It was never designed by God, when He chose His people, that they should be an untried people.  Trials are a part of our lot.  They were predestined for us in God's solemn decree and bequeathed us in Christ's last legacy.  So surely as the stars are fashioned by His hands, and their orbits fixed by Him, so surely are our trials allotted to us.  He has ordained their season and their place, their intensity, and the effect they will have on us.  Good men must never expect to escape troubles; if they do, they will be disappointed, for none of their predecessors have been without them.  Mark the patience of Job; remember Abraham, for he had his trials, and by his faith under them, he became the "Father of the faithful."  Note well the biographies of all the patriarchs, prophets, apostles, and martyrs, and you will discover none of those whom God made vessels of mercy, who were not made to pass through the fire of affliction.  It is ordained of old, that the cross of trouble should be engraved on every vessel of mercy, as the royal mark whereby the King's vessels of honor are distinguished.  But although tribulation is thus the path of God's children, they have the comfort of knowing that their Master has traversed it before them.  They have His presence and sympathy to cheer them, His grace to support them, and His example to teach them how to endure.  When they reach the Kingdom, it will more than make amends for the much tribulation through which they passed to enter it.

"우리가 하나님 나라에 들어가려면 많은 환난을 겪어야 할 것이라" (행 14: 22).

하나님의 백성에겐 그들의 시련이 있습니다.  하나님이 그의 백성을 택하셨을 때 그들이 시험받지 않는 백성이 되는 것은 결코 하나님의 계획이 아니었습니다.  시련이 우리 운명의 일부입니다.  시련은 하나님의 엄숙한 뜻으로 우리에게 예정되었으며 그리스도의 마지막 유산으로 우리에게 남겨졌습니다.  별들이 하나님의 손으로 만들어지고 그 궤도가 하나님에 의해 고정된 것처럼 확실하게, 그렇게 확실하게 우리의 시련은 우리의 몫이 되었습니다.  하나님은 시련의 때와 장소, 시련의 강도, 시련이 우리에게 미칠 영향을 정해놓으셨습니다.  선한 사람들은 절대로 고난을 회피하길 기대해서는 안됩니다.  고난을 회피한다면 그들은 실망하게 될 것입니다.  왜냐하면 그들의 선배들 누구도 고난없이 살지 않았기 때문입니다.  욥의 인내심에 주의하십시오.  아브라함을 기억하십시오.  그는 그의 시련을 겪었고, 시련 속에서 믿음을 지켜서 "믿는 자들의 조상"이 되었습니다.  모든 족장, 예언자, 사도, 순교자의 전기(傳記)를 잘 살펴보면 하나님의 축복의 그릇으로 삼은 이들 가운데 환란의 불을 통과해야만 하지 않았던 사람은 아무도 없었다는 것을 알게 될 것입니다.  고난의 십자가가 왕의 영예로운 그릇을 구별하는 왕의 표시(mark)로서 축복의 그릇에 새겨지는 것은 옛적부터 정해진 일입니다.  그러나 비록 고난이 이렇게 하나님의 자녀가 갈 길이지만 그들은 그들의 주인(Master)이 그들에 앞서서 그 길을 통과하셨다는 것을 앎으로써 위로를 받습니다.  그들에게는 그분의 임재와 공감이 있어 힘을 돋아주고, 그의 은혜가 있어 지원해 주고, 그의 선례가 있어 어떻게 견뎌야 할지 가르쳐 줍니다.  그들이 왕국(Kingdom)에 도달할 때 그것은 그들이 그곳에 도달하기 위해 거쳤던 많은 고난을 보상하고도 남음이 있습니다.
