7월 15일 스펄전 아침묵상 “불은 끊이지 않고 단 위에 피워 꺼지지 않게 할지니라”[레위기 6장 13절]

July 15 "The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out" (Leviticus 6: 13). Keep the altar of private prayer burning.  This is the very life of all piety.  Burn here the fat of your sacrifices.  Let your private devotions be, if possible, regular, frequent, and undisturbed.  Effectual prayer availeth much.  Have you nothing to pray for?  Let us suggest the Church, the ministry, your own soul, your children, your relations, your neighbors, your country, and the cause of God and truth throughout the world.  Let us examine ourselves on this important matter.  Do we engage in private devotion with lukewarmness?  Is the fire of devotion burning dimly in our hearts?  If so, be alarmed at this sign of decay.  Let us ask for the spirit of grace and of supplication.  Let us set apart special periods for extraordinary prayer.  For if this fire should be smothered beneath the ashes of a worldly conformity, it will dim the fire on the family altar and lessen our influence both in the Church and in the world.  The text will also apply to the altar of the heart.  This is a golden altar indeed.  God loves to see the hearts of His people glowing toward Himself.  Let us give God our hearts, blazing with love and seeking His grace, that the fire may never be quenched.  It will not burn if the Lord does not keep it burning.  Many adversaries will attempt to extinguish it.  Let us use Scriptures as fuel for our heart's fire; they are live coals.  Let us attend sermons, but above all let us be much alone with Jesus.   7월 15일 제목 : 불은 끊이지 않고 요절 : "불은 끊이지 않고 단 위에 피워 꺼지지 않게 할지니라"(레6:13) 그대의 개인 기도 제단의 불이 계속 타오르게 하십시오. 이것이 바로 신앙심(경건)의 생명입니다. 여기에서 그대의 희생의 기름을 불태우십시오. 그대의 개인 기도는 가능한 대로 정규적으로, 자주, 아무 방해를 받지 말고 하도록 하십시오.(역자주1)  효과적인 기도는 매우 유용(有用)합니다. 그대는 기도할 제목이 없습니까?  그렇다면 교회를 위하여, 목회자의 사역을 위하여, 그대 자신의 영혼을 위하여, 그대의 자녀들을 위하여, 그대의 친척을 위하여, 그대의 이웃을 위하여, 그대의 나라를 위하여, 그리고 하나님의 뜻(목적, the cause of God)과 진리가 온 세계에 전파되기를 위하여 기도(suggest, 제의) 하십시오.  그러면 이 중요한 일(기도)에 관하여 우리 자신을 살펴 봅시다. 우리의 개인 기도가 미적직은 합니까?(즉 열의가 없습니까?)  우리 마음속에서 기도의 불이 희미하게 타오르고 있습니까? 만일 그렇다면 이것은 부패(썩음)의 징조라는 경종임을 아십시오. 그리고 은혜의 영과 간구의 영을 간구하십시오.  그뿐만 아니라 비상한 기도를 위하여 특별한 기간을 준비하십시오.(즉 떼어 놓으십시오) 만일 이 불이 세상과의 부합(符合)이라는 잿가루 아래로 덮여 버려지면, 가정제단의 불은 어둠침침하게(희미하게)되고 교회와 세상에서 우리의 영향력은 줄어 들게 될 것입니다.  위 요절(레6:13)의 말씀은 또 우리의 가슴(마음)의 제단에도 적용될 것입니다. 참으로 이 제단은 황금제단(온통 금으로 만든 제단)이라고 할 수 있습니다. 하나님은 그의 백성의 가슴들이 그를 향하여 불타 오르는 것을 보고 싶어하십니다. 그러므로 우리는 그 불이 절대로 꺼지지 않도록 하나님의 은혜를 구하면서 사랑으로 불타 오르는 우리의 가슴을 하나님께 드립시다. 주께서 그 불을 계속 타오르게 하시지 않으면 그 불은 꺼지고 말 것입니다.  많은 원수들이 그 불을 끄려고 시도할 것입니다. 우리는 우리의 가슴의 불을 위한 연료로서 성경의 말씀을 사용합시다. 성경의 말씀은 활성탄(活性炭)입니다. 설교의 자리에 출석(참석)합시다.  그리고 무엇보다 홀로 예수님과 함께하는 시간을 많이 가집시다. 주1 마6:6
