작사, 작곡 : 아더 A. 루터 (1891 ~ 1960). 그에 대해서는 알려진 바가 전혀 없다. 인간은 지극히 이기적이어서 자신에게 유익을 줄 때는 친구인 양 행동하지만 막상 이용 가치가 없을 때는 매몰차게 돌아서 버리는 경우가 허다하다. 그러나 예수께서는 죄인인 우리를 친히 찾아오시고 자기 몸을 찢어 피 흘리기까지 사랑해 주셨다. 여기에 예수 사랑의 위대성이 있다.
