우상숭배자들에 대한 심판

1.  이스라엘의 장로들 몇 사람이 내게 와서 내 앞에 앉았다.
2.  그러자 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임해 말씀하셨다.
3.  “사람아, 이 사람들은 자신들의 마음에 우상을 세우고 자신들을 죄에 빠뜨리는 걸림돌을 앞에 두었다. 그런데 내가 그들의 질문에 응해야겠느냐?
4.  그러므로 그들에게 선포하여 말하여라. ‘주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 자기 마음에 자기의 우상을 세우고 자신을 죄에 빠뜨리는 걸림돌을 자기 앞에 두고서 예언자에게 오는 사람은 이스라엘 족속 어느 누구에게라도 여호와가 그 많은 우상의 대가를 지불할 것이다.
5.  우상으로 인해 그들이 내게서 떠나 버렸으니 이제는 내가 모든 이스라엘 족속의 마음을 붙잡으려는 것이다.’
6.  그러므로 이스라엘 족속에게 말하여라. ‘주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 회개하라! 너희의 우상들에게서 돌아서고 모든 혐오스러운 일들로부터 돌아서라!
7.  이스라엘 족속 어느 누구나, 또 이스라엘에 거주하는 어느 이방 사람이라도 나를 떠나서 그의 마음에 우상을 세우고 자신을 죄에 빠뜨리는 걸림돌을 앞에 둔 채 내게 문의하려고 예언자에게 오는 사람은 나 여호와가 그에게 친히 응답할 것이다.
8.  내가 그 사람을 대면하고 본보기로 내가 그를 속담거리로 만들 것이다. 내가 그를 내 백성들 가운데서 죽일 것이다. 그러면 내가 여호와임을 너희가 알게 될 것이다.
9.  만약 예언자가 속아서 말을 하면 나 여호와가 그 예언자를 속도록 내버려 둘 것이다. 내가 손을 그에게 뻗어서 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데서 그를 멸망시킬 것이다.
10.  그들이 자기 죄 값을 치러야 할 것이다. 예언자의 죄나 그에게 문의하는 사람의 죄나 마찬가지일 것이다.
11.  그러면 이스라엘 족속이 더 이상 내게서 떠나 방황하지 않을 것이고 더 이상 모든 죄악으로 인해 더럽혀지지 않을 것이다. 오직 그들은 내 백성이 되고 나는 그들의 하나님이 될 것이다. 주 여호와의 말이다.’”
12.  여호와의 말씀이 내게 임해 말씀하셨다.
13.  “사람아, 만약 어떤 나라가 내게 신실하지 못해서 내게 죄를 지으면 내가 그 나라에 손을 뻗어서 그 땅에 식량 공급을 끊을 것이다. 또한 기근을 보내며 사람과 짐승을 멸종시킬 것이다.
14.  노아, 다니엘, 욥 이 세 사람이 그 안에 있다고 해도 그들이 그들의 의로움으로 인해서 자기들의 목숨만 건질 것이다. 주 여호와의 말이다.
15.  만약 내가 사나운 짐승들을 그 땅에 지나다니게 해 그 땅을 메마르게 하고 사나운 짐승 때문에 아무도 그곳을 지나다닐 수 없게 돼 그 땅이 황무지가 된다고 하자.
16.  내가 목숨을 걸고 단언하건대 노아, 다니엘, 욥 이 세 사람이 그 안에 있다고 해도 그들은 아들들이나 딸들을 구하지 못할 것이다. 오직 그들 자신만 구할 것이다. 그리고 그 땅은 황폐하게 될 것이다. 나 여호와의 말이다.
17.  또는 만약 내가 그 땅에 전쟁의 칼을 보내 ‘칼아, 그 땅을 통과해서 지나가라’라고 말하고 내가 그 땅으로부터 사람과 짐승을 사라지게 한다면
18.  내 삶을 두고 맹세한다. 이 세 사람이 그 안에 있다고 해도 그들이 아들들이나 딸들을 구하지 못할 것이다. 오직 자신들만 구할 것이다. 주 여호와의 말이다.
19.  또는 만약 내가 그 땅에 전염병을 보내 내 분노를 그 땅에 피로 쏟아 붓고 그곳으로부터 사람과 짐승을 사라지게 한다면
20.  내 삶을 두고 맹세한다. 노아, 다니엘, 욥이 그 안에 있다고 해도 그들이 아들들이나 딸들을 구하지 못할 것이다. 그들은 오직 자신들의 의로움으로 인해서 자기 목숨만 구할 것이다. 주 여호와의 말이다.
21.  나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다. 칼과 기근과 들짐승과 전염병 이렇게 네 가지 무서운 심판을 내가 예루살렘에 보내 그 땅으로부터 사람과 짐승을 사라지게 할 때에 얼마나 해가 크겠는가!
22.  그러나 보라. 구원받을 몇몇 아들들과 딸들이 그 안에 살아남을 것이다. 그들이 너희에게 올 것이다. 너희가 그들의 행동과 행위를 보면 내가 예루살렘에 내린 재앙, 내가 그 위에 내린 모든 재앙에 대해 너희가 위로를 받게 될 것이다.
23.  너희가 그들의 행동과 행위를 보고 위로를 받게 될 것이다. 그러면 내가 예루살렘에 행한 모든 일이 이유 없는 것이 아님을 너희가 알 것이다. 주 여호와의 말이다.”

1.  Then some elders of Israel came to me and sat down before me.
2.  And the word of the LORD came to me saying,
3.  "Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity. Should I be consulted by them at all?
4.  "Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD," Any man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and [then] comes to the prophet, I the LORD will be brought to give him an answer in the matter in view of the multitude of his idols,
5.  in order to lay hold of the hearts of the house of Israel who are estranged from Me through all their idols. "'
6.  "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD," Repent and turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations.
7.  "For anyone of the house of Israel or of the immigrants who stay in Israel who separates himself from Me, sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and [then] comes to the prophet to inquire of Me for himself, I the LORD will be brought to answer him in My own person.
8.  "And I shall set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb, and I shall cut him off from among My people. So you will know that I am the LORD.
9.  "But if the prophet is prevailed upon to speak a word, it is I, the LORD, who have prevailed upon that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.
10.  "And they will bear [the punishment of] their iniquity; as the iniquity of the inquirer is, so the iniquity of the prophet will be,
11.  in order that the house of Israel may no longer stray from Me and no longer defile themselves with all their transgressions. Thus they will be My people, and I shall be their God, "'declares the Lord GOD."
12.  Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,
13.  "Son of man, if a country sins against Me by committing unfaithfulness, and I stretch out My hand against it, destroy its supply of bread, send famine against it, and cut off from it both man and beast,
14.  even [though] these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, by their [own] righteousness they could [only] deliver themselves, "declares the Lord GOD.
15.  "If I were to cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they depopulated it, and it became desolate so that no one would pass through it because of the beasts,
16.  [though] these three men were in its midst, as I live, "declares the Lord GOD," they could not deliver either [their] sons or [their] daughters. They alone would be delivered, but the country would be desolate.
17.  "Or [if] I should bring a sword on that country and say, 'Let the sword pass through the country and cut off man and beast from it,'
18.  even [though] these three men were in its midst, as I live, "declares the Lord GOD," they could not deliver either [their] sons or [their] daughters, but they alone would be delivered.
19.  "Or [if] I should send a plague against that country and pour out My wrath in blood on it, to cut off man and beast from it,
20.  even [though] Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, as I live, " declares the Lord GOD, "they could not deliver either [their] son or [their] daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness."
21.  For thus says the Lord GOD, "How much more when I send My four severe judgments against Jerusalem: sword, famine, wild beasts, and plague to cut off man and beast from it!
22.  "Yet, behold, survivors will be left in it who will be brought out, [both] sons and daughters. Behold, they are going to come forth to you and you will see their conduct and actions; then you will be comforted for the calamity which I have brought against Jerusalem for everything which I have brought upon it.
23.  "Then they will comfort you when you see their conduct and actions, for you will know that I have not done in vain whatever I did to it," declares the Lord GOD.

[히브리어]제14장

1.  ויבוא אלי אנשים מזקני ישראל וישבו לפני׃
2.  ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
3.  בן אדם האנשים האלה העלו גלוליהם על לבם ומכשול עונם נתנו נכח פניהם האדרש אדרש להם׃
4.  לכן דבר אותם ואמרת אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה איש איש מבית ישראל אשר יעלה את גלוליו אל לבו ומכשול עונו ישים נכח פניו ובא אל הנביא אני יהוה נעניתי לו בה ברב גלוליו׃
5.  למען תפש את בית ישראל בלבם אשר נזרו מעלי בגלוליהם כלם׃
6.  לכן אמר אל בית ישראל כה אמר אדני יהוה שובו והשיבו מעל גלוליכם ומעל כל תועבתיכם השיבו פניכם׃
7.  כי איש איש מבית ישראל ומהגר אשר יגור בישראל וינזר מאחרי ויעל גלוליו אל לבו ומכשול עונו ישים נכח פניו ובא אל הנביא לדרש לו בי אני יהוה נענה לו בי׃
8.  ונתתי פני באיש ההוא והשמתיהו לאות ולמשלים והכרתיו מתוך עמי וידעתם כי אני יהוה׃
9.  והנביא כי יפתה ודבר דבר אני יהוה פתיתי את הנביא ההוא ונטיתי את ידי עליו והשמדתיו מתוך עמי ישראל׃
10.  ונשאו עונם כעון הדרש כעון הנביא יהיה׃
11.  למען לא יתעו עוד בית ישראל מאחרי ולא יטמאו עוד בכל פשעיהם והיו לי לעם ואני אהיה להם לאלהים נאם אדני יהוה׃
12.  ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
13.  בן אדם ארץ כי תחטא לי למעל מעל ונטיתי ידי עליה ושברתי לה מטה לחם והשלחתי בה רעב והכרתי ממנה אדם ובהמה׃
14.  והיו שלשת האנשים האלה בתוכה נח דנאל ואיוב המה בצדקתם ינצלו נפשם נאם אדני יהוה׃
15.  לו חיה רעה אעביר בארץ ושכלתה והיתה שממה מבלי עובר מפני החיה׃
16.  שלשת האנשים האלה בתוכה חי אני נאם אדני יהוה אם בנים ואם בנות יצילו המה לבדם ינצלו והארץ תהיה שממה׃
17.  או חרב אביא על הארץ ההיא ואמרתי חרב תעבר בארץ והכרתי ממנה אדם ובהמה׃
18.  ושלשת האנשים האלה בתוכה חי אני נאם אדני יהוה לא יצילו בנים ובנות כי הם לבדם ינצלו׃
19.  או דבר אשלח אל הארץ ההיא ושפכתי חמתי עליה בדם להכרית ממנה אדם ובהמה׃
20.  ונח דנאל ואיוב בתוכה חי אני נאם אדני יהוה אם בן אם בת יצילו המה בצדקתם יצילו נפשם׃
21.  כי כה אמר אדני יהוה אף כי ארבעת שפטי הרעים חרב ורעב וחיה רעה ודבר שלחתי אל ירושלם להכרית ממנה אדם ובהמה׃
22.  והנה נותרה בה פלטה המוצאים בנים ובנות הנם יוצאים אליכם וראיתם את דרכם ואת עלילותם ונחמתם על הרעה אשר הבאתי על ירושלם את כל אשר הבאתי עליה׃
23.  ונחמו אתכם כי תראו את דרכם ואת עלילותם וידעתם כי לא חנם עשיתי את כל אשר עשיתי בה נאם אדני יהוה׃
