6월 25일 출애굽기 14:15-16
15. 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 어찌하여 내게 부르짖느냐 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 앞으로 나아가게 하고
16. 지팡이를 들고 손을 바다 위로 내밀어 그것이 갈라지게 하라 이스라엘 자손이 바다 가운데서 마른 땅으로 행하리라
하나님의 자녀들이여, 저 승리의 행진을 상상해 보십시오! 부모들이 아무리 말리고 붙들어도 아이들은 환호성을 지르며 뛰어다녔을 것입니다. 여인들은 어떠했겠습니까. 죽음보다 낫다고 할 수 없는 운명에서 한순간에 구원받았으니 기쁨을 감추기 어려웠을 것입니다. 아이와 여인들을 거느리고 가던 남자 들은 아마도 틀림없이, 하나님을 믿지 못하고 모세에게 불평한 자신들이 부끄러워 자책했을 것입니다. 영원하신 분께서 단 한 사람의 믿음에 응하여 팔로 내뻗으시고, 그로 인해 갈라진 홍해의 거대한 물의 벽을 상상하면서, 여러분은 하나님께서 자녀들을 위해 어떻게 일하시는지 배워야 합니다.
하나님의 명령에 절대 순종하고 결과에 대해서는 두려워 마십시오. 우리의 진행을 방해하는 저 앞의 도도한 물결 겁내지 마십시오. 험한 파도 성난 물결보다 하나님이 크십니다. 여호와께서 홍수 때에 좌정하셨음이여, 여호와께서 영원하도록 왕으로 좌정하시도다" (시 29:10). 폭풍은 그분의 옷자락이 한번 휘날리는 것에 불과하고, 그분께서 오신다는 신호이며 그분 임재의 증거입니다. 담대히 그분을 믿고, 담대히 그분을 따르십시오! 우리의 전진을 막고 우리 삶을 위협하는 세력이 그분의 명령으로 우리의 자유의 도로를 건설하는 자재가 될 것입니다.
그대 인생의 홍해,
모든 노력 다했으나, 물속 말고는
앞으로도 뒤로도 갈 수 없는 거기,
그대 거기 와 있는가?
가만히 의지하며 주님을 기다리라.
무서운 밤 지나도록,
바람을 보내시고 물결 층층이 쌓으시면
그대 영혼에게 말씀하시리라, “가라."
그분의 손 그대를 최후까지 인도하시고
일어섰던 물마루 그제야 무너지리라.
원수는 그대에게 닿지 못하고, 저 파도
저 거센 바다 그대를 삼키지 못하리라.
굽이치는 파도 갈기를 세우고
그대 발아래 물거품 흩날리겠으나
그대, 온전히 말라 버린 심연의 땅,
주께서 만드신 그 길 걸으리라.
높이 선 구름 아래서 아침을 맞을 때.
그대 오직 주님만 보리니,
그분께서 바다 이편으로부터 그대.
알지 못하는 땅으로 인도하시리라.
그대의 원수들 사라질 때 두려움도
사라지고, 무서움은 더 이상 없으리니,
그분께서 만드신 거기, 더 좋은
거기서, 그대 그분 찬양하리라.

March Forward
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward — Exod 14:15
Imagine, O child of God, if you can, that triumphal march! The excited children restrained from ejaculations of wonder by the perpetual hush of their parents; the most uncontrollable excitement of the women as they found themselves suddenly saved from a fate worse than death; while the men followed or accompanied them ashamed or confounded that they had ever mistrusted God or murmured against Moses; and as you see those mighty walls of water piled by the outstretched hand of the Eternal, in response to the faith of a single man, learn what God will do for His own.
Dread not any result of implicit obedience to His command; fear not the angry waters which, in their proud insolence, forbid your progress. Above the voices of many waters, the mighty breakers of the sea, “the Lord sitteth King for ever.”
A storm is only as the outskirts of His robe, the symptom of His advent, the environment of His presence.
Dare to trust Him; dare to follow Him! And discover that the very forces which barred your progress and threatened your life, at His bidding become the materials of which an avenue is made to liberty. — F. B. Meyer
Have you come to the Red Sea place in your life,
