우리의 유한한 생명을 다 지켜보시는 무소부재의 하나님,
오늘 제가 모든 일들과 목표를 수행할 때 참된 예의와 존중의 마음을 품고 행할 수 있도록 도와주옵소서.
무슨 일을 하든지 공평하고 진실하게 하옵소서.
비열하고 저급한 생각들이 제 마음 어디에든 잠시도 틈타지 않게 하옵소서.
제 마음의 동기들이 누구에게든 정직하게 하옵소서.
제 말이 제 보증이 되게 하시고, 사람을 비겁하게 이용하지 않게 하옵소서.
타인을 판단할 때는 너그럽게 하시고, 제 자신의 견해에 사욕이 없게 하옵소서.
친구에게는 성실하고 대적에게는 관대하게 하옵소서.
용기 있게 역경에 맞서게 하시고, 제 자신에게 너무 많은 것을 요구하거나 기대하지 않게 하옵소서.
그러나 오 하나님, 제가 사람들이 그리스도와 상관없이 추구해 온 이상에 만족하지 않게 하옵소서. 오히려 그리스도께서 품으셨던 이상을 저도 품게 하옵소서.
그리스도의 온전한 분량에 이를 때까지는 결코 만족하지 않게 하옵소서.
제가 그리스도께서 물으시는 말씀을 듣게 하옵소서. “다른 이들보다 나은 것이 무엇이냐?” 그리하여 제 모든 걸음과 대화가 그리스도의 복음이 될 때까지, 그리스도께서 주시는 세 가지 은총인 믿음과 소망과 사랑이 제 안에 점점 더 많아지게 하옵소서.
예수 그리스도의 죽음을 통해 저희를 향한 사랑을 증명해 주신 아버지,
그리스도의 십자가의 권능이 오늘 저와 함께하게 하옵소서.
그리하여 예수께서 사랑하셨듯이 저도 사랑하게 하시고,
저도 주님처럼 죽기까지 순종하게 하옵소서.
그 분의 십자가를 의지하여 제 자신을 부인하게 하시고, 그리스도의 능력으로 제 십자가를 지게 하옵소서.
가족들 안에 속해 있지만 저마다에게 고독을 주신 하나님,
하늘의 축복을 제 가족과 이웃과 동족들에게 내려 주옵소서.
그리스도께서 모든 이들의 마음속에서 다스리시고 모든 가정에서 그리스도의 법이 존중을 받게 하옵소서, 모든 무릎을 그리스도 앞에 꿇게 하시고,
모든 입술이 그리스도를 주로 고백하게 하옵소서. 아멘.
O omnipresent One, beneath whose all-seeing eye our mortal lives are passed, grant that in all my deeds and purposes today I may behave with true courtesy and honour.
Let me be just and true in all my dealings.
Let no mean or low thought have a moment's place in my mind.
Let my motives be transparent to all.
Let my word be my bond.
Let me take no unchivalrous advantage of anybody.
Let me be generous in my judgment of others.
Let me be disinterested in my opinions.
Let me be loyal to my friends and magnanimous to my opponents.
Let me face adversity with courage. Let me not ask or expect too much for myself.
Yet, Lord God, let me not rest content with such an ideal of manhood as men have known apart from Christ. Rather let such a mind be in me as was in Him. Let me not rest till I come to the stature of His own fullness. Let me listen to Christ's question: What do ye more than others? And so may the threefold Christian graces of faith, hope, and love be more and more formed within me, until all my walk and conversation be such as become the gospel of Christ.
You whose love to man was proven in the passion and death of Jesus Christ our Lord, let the power of His Cross be with me today. Let me love as He loved. Let my obedience be unto death. In leaning upon His Cross, let me not refuse my own; yet in bearing mine, let me bear it by the strength of His.
You who have set the solitary in families, I crave Your heavenly blessing also for all the members of this household, all my neighbours, and all my fellow citizens. Let Christ rule in every heart and His law be honoured in every home. Let every knee be bent before Him and every tongue confess that He is Lord. Amen.
모든 인간의 유한한 삶이 당신의 눈 아래 있는 무소부재하신 하나님, 나의 오늘의 모든 행동과 목적이 예의 바름과 명예로 이루어지게 하소서.
거래 관계에서 정의롭고 진실하게 하소서.
내 마음 속의 작은 곳에서도 비열하거나 저급한 생각이 없게 하소서.
나의 모든 동기들이 투명하게 하소서.
나의 말이 허튼 것이 되지 않게 하소서.
내가 누구에게서든 옳지 않은 이익을 얻지 말게 하소서.
다른 이의 판단에 대해서 관대하게 하소서.
나 자신의 견해를 지나치게 내세우지 않게 하소서.

그러나 주 하나님, 나로 하여금 그리스도를 떠난 인간의 이상적인 이념에 만족하지 않게 하소서. 오히려 그리스도의 마음을 내 안에 품게 하소서. 주님의 완전한 경지에 도달할 때까지 쉬지 않게 하소서. 네가 다른 사람보다 더 행한 것이 무엇이냐는 그리스도의 질문을 듣게 하소서. 믿음, 소망, 사랑의 세 가지 은혜가 더욱더 내 안에서 이루어져 나의 모든 행함과 대화가 그리스도의 복음에 합한 것이 되게 하소서.
예수 그리스도의 수난과 죽으심을 통해 사랑을 증명하신 당신께서 그의 십자가의 능력이 오늘 나에게 함께해 주옵소서. 그가 사랑하신 것 같이 나도 사랑하게 하옵소서. 나로 죽기까지 순종하게 하옵소서. 그의 십자가에 기대어 나 자신의 십자가를 거부하지 않게 하시고, 그의 힘을 의지하여 십자가를 지게 하소서.
가정들 속에 고독함도 주신 주님, 원하오니 집안의 모든 구성원들과 모든 이웃들과 동족들에게 하늘의 복을 구합니다. 그리스도께서 각 사람의 마음을 지배하게 하시고, 그의 법이 모든 가정에서 존귀함을 받게 하옵소서. 모든 사람의 무릎이 그 앞에 꿇게 하시고, 모든 입술이 그가 주되심을 고백하게 하옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도하옵나이다. 아멘.
