영원하신 하나님,
비록 주님을 제 눈으로 볼 수 있거나 제 손으로 만질 수는 없지만,
오늘 주님의 실재와 권능을 분명히 확신할 수 있도록 도와주옵소서.
제가 세상의 감각과 시간만 믿고 일터로 나아가지 않게 하시고
보거나 만질 수 없는 세상이야말로 가장 참된 세상임을 이해할 수 있도록 은혜를 베풀어 주옵소서.
제가 오늘 이 세상의 시간 속에서 살아가더라도 그 속에서 영원의 문제에 관심을 품고 살아가게 하옵소서.
당장 제 몸의 필요가 시급하더라도, 제 영혼의 필요에 가장 관심을 기울이게 하옵소서.
제 사업은 물질적인 것들을 다루는 일일지라도, 그 배후에 있는 영적인 일들을 늘 인식하게 하옵소서.
중요한 것은 돈이나 소유가 아니고, 집이나 땅이 아니며, 육신의 위로나 쾌락이 아님을, 항상 기억하게 하옵소서.
정말 중요한 것은 진리와 명예와 온유와 유익과 당신의 순전한 사랑임을 항상 마음에 간직하게 하옵소서.
주께서 주신 능력으로 제가 보이지 않는 것을 붙잡을 수 있게 하시고,
지금 이곳이 내 집이 아니라고 확신할 수 있는 마음과 유한한 것으로 결코 만족하지 못하는 마음을 주시니 오 하나님, 감사합니다.
제 영혼 속으로 쳐들어와 주신 성령님과 제게 주님에 관해 말해준 모든 사람들의 사랑과 선행, 그리고 예수 그리스도 안에서 제게 부어주신 당신의 충만한 영광을 인하여
오 하나님, 감사드립니다.
영원을 향한 순례자인 제가 이 시간 영원하신 주님 앞에 섰습니다.
제가 당신을 향한 갈망을 약화시키거나 무너뜨리는 일을 추구하지 않게 하옵소서.
도리어 그 갈망에 제 자신을 매게 하시고, 그것이 인도하는 대로 가게 하옵소서.
오늘 제가 영원의 빛 아래서 모든 것을 볼 만큼 지혜롭게 하시고 위대한 비전이 담긴 제 삶의 모든 변화들에 직면할 만큼 담대하게 하옵소서.
내 구주 그리스도의 은혜를 의지하여 기도합니다. 아멘.
Eternal God, though I cannot see You with my eyes or touch You with my hands, yet grant me this day a clear confidence of Your reality and power. Do not let me go to my work believing only in the world of sense and time, but give me grace to understand that the world I cannot see or touch is the most real world of all. My life today will be lived in time, but eternal issues will be concerned in it. The needs of my body will make themselves known, but it is for the needs of my soul that I must care the most. My business will be with physical things, but behind them let me be aware of spiritual things. Let me keep steadily in mind that the things that matter are not money or possessions, not houses or lands, not bodily comfort or bodily pleasure; but truth and honor and meekness and helpfulness and a pure love of Yourself.
For the power You have given me to lay hold of things unseen:
For the strong sense I have that this is not my home:
For my restless heart which nothing finite can satisfy:
I give You thanks, God.
For the invasion of my soul by Your Holy Spirit:
For all human love and goodness that speak to me of You:
For the fullness of Your glory poured out in Jesus Christ:
I give You thanks, God.
I, a pilgrim of eternity, stand before You, O eternal One. Do not let me seek to deaden or destroy the desire for You that disturbs my heart. Let me rather yield myself to its constraint and go where it leads me. Make me wise to see all things today in their eternal form, and make me brave to face all the changes in my life which such a vision may entail, through the grace of Christ my Savior. Amen.
영원하신 하나님 아버지, 비록 당신은 나의 눈으로 볼 수도 없고 손으로 만질 수는 없어도, 당신의 실제와 능력에 대한 분명한 확신을 허락하소서. 오늘 내가 일터로 나갈 때 단지 감각과 시간의 세계만을 믿지 말게 하시고, 내가 볼 수 없고 만질 수 없는 세계야말로 가장 참된 세계인 것을 이해할 수 있는 은혜를 주옵소서. 나의 삶은 시간 속에서의 삶이지만 그 안에 있는 영원한 주제에 관심을 갖게 하소서. 나의 몸의 요구도 절박하지만, 나의 영혼의 요구에 대해서도 더 관심을 갖게 하소서. 나의 사업은 물질적인 것이지만, 그 배후에 있는 영적인 일을 인식하게 해 주소서. 내 마음속에 중요한 것은 돈이나 소유, 집이나 토지, 육체적인 위로나 즐거움이 아니라, 당신의 진리와 명예, 온유, 도우심, 그리고 당신의 순전한 사랑임을 마음속에 기억하게 해 주옵소서.

영원의 순례자인 나는, 영원하신 하나님, 당신 앞에 서 있습니다. 내 마음을 흔드는 당신을 향한 열망을 무디게 하거나 파괴하지 않게 하소서. 나로 하여금 오히려 그 열망에 나를 복종시키고 그것이 인도하는 곳으로 가게 하소서. 오늘도 영원의 관점에서 모든 것을 볼 수 있도록 나를 지혜롭게 하시고, 이런 비전이 수반하는 나의 삶의 변화를 직면할 수 있도록 나를 용감하게 해 주소서. 나의 구주 예수 그리스도의 은혜를 통하여 그의 이름으로 기도합니다.
