오, 생명의 근원이신 하나님
저 같은 인간이 주님을 바라보고 아버지라 부를 수 있게 하신,
주께서 마련하시고 성취하신 위대하고 은혜로운 경륜을 이 시간 묵상하게 하옵소서.
태초에 스스로 계신 주님께서 만물을 무에서 창조하셨습니다.
공간과 시간과 물질들을 만드셨습니다.
땅에 기는 것과 하늘을 나는 모든 것, 숲의 짐승들과 공중의 새들, 바다의 고기들을 만드셨습니다. 그리고 맨 나중에 주님과 교제하게 하시려고 주님의 형상대로 사람을 지으셨습니다.
마음의 타락과 불순종으로 사람의 형상이 손상되었을 때 주님의 하나뿐인 아들이라는 선물을 통해 그 형상을 회복하실 은혜로운 계획을 세우셨습니다.
그 아들 안에 새 생명이 있으며, 주님의 거룩한 임재 가운데로 나아갈 새 길이 열렸습니다.
오 사랑의 하나님, 주께서는 모든 피조된 영혼들이 당신과 순전하고 온전한 교제 가운데 영원토록 살기를 원하시오니, 오늘을 사는 동안 제가 주님의 가장 은혜로운 목적에 어긋난 일은 결코 행하지 않도록 도와주옵소서.
주님의 온 피조물이 온전한 하나님의 자녀들이 나타나기를 기다리며 탄식하며 고통하고 있음을 기억하게 하시고, 그 목적을 좀 더 빨리 이룰 수 있도록 주의 성령께서 제게 역사하실 때 기꺼이 받아들일 수 있도록 도와주옵소서.
주께서 제 마음의 문을 두드리실 때, 주님이 문 밖에 서 계시지 않도록 기쁨과 감사함으로 주를 영접하게 하옵소서.
제가 주님의 임재를 곤란케 할 어떤 마음도 품지 않게 하시고, 주님의 감화를 가로막는 곳이 마음 어느 한 구석도 없게 하옵소서.
오 하나님, 저를 통해 주께서 원하시는 것을 하옵소서. 주께서 원하시는 대로 저를 빚으시고 주께서 원하시는 대로 저를 변화시켜 주옵소서.
이제도 그리고 이후 언제까지든지 주께서 원하시는 대로 저를 사용하여 주옵소서.

God, my hidden Source of life, let me now meditate upon the great and gracious plan by which You have brought it to pass that a mortal man like me should look up to You and call You Father.
In the beginning You, the Uncreated,
Making all things out of nothing:
Space and time and material substance:
All things that creep and fly, the beasts of the forest, the fowls of the air, the fish of the sea:
And at last man, in Your own image, to have fellowship with Yourself:
Then when, in the corruption and disobedience of his heart, that image had been defaced:
A gracious design for its restoration through the gift of Your only-begotten Son:
New life in Him, and a new access to Your holy presence.
O hidden love of God, whose will it is that all created spirits should live everlastingly in pure and perfect fellowship with Yourself, grant that in my life today I may do nothing to defeat this Your most gracious purpose. Let me keep in mind how Your whole creation groans and travails, waiting for the perfect appearing of the sons of God; and let me welcome every influence of Your Spirit upon my own that may the more speedily make for that end. When You do knock at my heart's door, let me not keep You standing without but welcome You with joy and thanksgiving. Let me harbor nothing in my heart that might embarrass Your presence; let me keep no corner of it closed to Your influence. Do what You will with me, God; make of me what You will, and change me as You will, and use me as You will, both now and in the larger life beyond; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
삶의 숨은 원천이시며, 나같이 죽을 수밖에 없는 인간이 당신을 바라보며 아버지라고 부를 수 있도록 이끄신 크고도 은혜로우신 계획을 기억하게 해 주소서.
지음 받지 않은 당신은 태초에 무로부터 모든 것을 창조하셨습니다. 공간과 시간과 물질을 지으셨습니다. 기는 것과 나는 것 그리고 숲의 짐승과 공중의 새들, 바다의 물고기를 지으셨습니다. 그리고 마지막에 당신께서 교제하기 위해 당신의 형상을 따라 인간을 지으셨습니다. 그러나 인간의 마음의 부패함과 불순종으로 그 형상이 손상되었을 때, 외아들을 선물로 주심으로 회복을 위한 은혜로운 계획을 하셨습니다. 이제 우리는 그 안에서 새로운 삶, 그리고 당신의 거룩한 임재에 다시 나갈 수 있게 되었습니다.
창조 받은 모든 영혼들이 당신과의 순수하고 완전한 교제 속에서 영원히 살기를 원하시는 숨어계신 사랑의 하나님, 오늘의 나의 삶이 당신의 은혜로우신 목적에서 멀어지지 않게 하옵소서. 나로 하여금 당신의 모든 피조물이 탄식과 고통 가운데서 하나님의 아들들의 완전한 나타남을 기다리고 있음을 기억하게 하옵소서. 그 목적을 속히 이루기 위해서 나에게 향하신 당신의 영의 영향력을 환영하게 하옵소서. 당신께서 내 마음을 두드리실 때, 당신이 밖에 서계시지 않도록 기쁨과 감사로 영접하게 하소서. 당신이 임재하심을 당황스럽게 만드는 것이 내 속에 자리 잡지 않게 해 주옵소서. 당신의 영향력에 막혀있는 구석이 없게 하소서. 오 하나님, 당신이 나에게 원하시는 대로 행하시고, 당신이 원하시는 대로 나를 만드시고, 당신이 원하시는 대로 나를 변화시키시고, 당신이 원하시는 대로 나를 사용하옵소서. 지금의 삶과 현재의 삶을 넘어서는 더 확장된 미래의 삶에서도 그리하옵소서. 예수 그리스도 우리 주님의 이름으로 기도하옵나이다. 아멘.
