오 나의 주 나의 왕이시여
소리 높여 당신을 경배합니다.
새 날의 첫 시간 경외하는 마음으로 주님을 찬미합니다.
모든 찬양과 사랑과 충성이 존귀하신 주님께 있기를 원합니다.
주 하나님,
오늘 제 생각이 한때뿐인 세상의 볼거리에 완전히 사로잡히지 않게 하소서.
인애의 주님께서 눈에 보이지 않지만 영원한 것들을 묵상할 수 있도록 제 마음을 고양시켜 주셨음을 아오니, 제 마음이 감각적이고 한시적인 것에 만족하지 않게 하옵소서.
이 하루, 제가 눈에 보이지 않는 세계를 붙잡을 수 있도록 강건케 하시고, 그 세상의 실재를 느낄 수 있는 감수성이 더욱 예민해지게 하시고,
제 마음이 거룩한 관심을 사모하게 하심으로 이 땅의 생명의 끝이 가까워질수록, 포말처럼 사라질 그것들의 일부가 되지 않고, 점점 더 다가올 세상의 생명을 닮아가게 하옵소서.
모든 것을 보시고 아시는 주님,
지금 기도하오니, 제가 주님을 알 때,
주께서 온전히 저를 아시듯 제가 자신을 알 수 있으며,
제가 주님을 볼 때,
진실로 주님 앞에 있는 것처럼 제 자신을 볼 수 있사오니,
제가 주님을 잘 알고 볼 수 있도록 은혜를 베풀어 주옵소서.
오늘 시간 속에 사는 제 삶의 확실한 비전을 주소서.
제가 얼마나 작은지 그리고 주님은 얼마나 무한히 위대하신지 보여 주소서.
무한히 위대하신지 보여 주소서.
제 자신의 죄와 주님의 완전한 의로우심을 보여 주소서.
저의 사랑 없음과 주님의 놀라운 사랑을 보여 주소서.
하지만 주님의 자비로 저는 비록 작지만 제가 어떻게 주님의 위대하심을 피난처로 삼을 수 있을지 보여주소서.
저는 비록 죄인이지만, 제가 어떻게 주의 의를 의지할 수 있을지 보여 주소서.
제 사랑은 비록 작지만, 어떻게 제가 주님이 용서하시는 사랑 안에 숨을 수 있을지 보여주소서.
오늘 제가 나의 주 예수 그리스도의 삶과 죽음을 깊이 묵상하게 하심으로 제가 주께서 그리스도의 이름으로 제게 주신 구속의 빛에서 모든 것을 볼 수 있게 하옵소서.

All Hail, Lord my King! Reverently would I greet You at the beginning of another day! All praise and love and loyalty be unto You, Lord most high!
Forbid, Lord God, that my thoughts today should be wholly occupied with the world's passing show. Seeing that in Your loving kindness You have given me the power to lift my mind to the contemplation of things unseen and eternal, forbid that I should remain content with the things of sense and time. Grant rather that each day may do something so to strengthen my hold upon and so to attach my heart to its holy interests that, as the end of my earthly life draws ever nearer, I may not grow to be a part of these fleeting earthly surroundings, but rather grow more and more conformed to the life of the world to come.
You, who sees and knows all things, I pray you give me grace to know You and so to see You, that in knowing You I may know myself even as I am most perfectly known of You, and in seeing You may see myself as I truly am before You. Give me today some clear vision of my life in the present as it appears to Your eternity. Show me my own smallness and Your infinite greatness. Show me my own sin and Your perfect righteousness. Show me my own lovelessness and Your exceeding love. Yet in Your mercy show me also how, small as I am, I can take refuge in Your greatness; how, sinful as I am, I may lean upon Your righteousness; and how, loveless as I am, I may hide myself in Your forgiving love. Cause my thoughts to dwell often today on the life and death of Jesus Christ my Lord, so that I may see all things in the light of the redemption which You have granted to me in His name. Amen.
