1Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: 'Keep all these commands that I give you today.
1וַיְצַו מֹשֶׁה וְזִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הָעָם לֵאמֹר שָׁמֹר אֶת־כָּל־הַמִּצְוָה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם הַיֹּום׃
2When you have crossed the Jordan into the land the LORD your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.
2וְהָיָה בַּיֹּום אֲשֶׁר תַּעַבְרוּ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לָךְ וַהֲקֵמֹתָ לְךָ אֲבָנִים גְּדֹלֹות וְשַׂדְתָּ אֹתָם בַּשִּׂיד׃
3Write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over to enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you.
3וְכָתַבְתָּ עֲלֵיהֶן אֶת־כָּל־דִּבְרֵי הַתֹּורָה הַזֹּאת בְּעָבְרֶךָ לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר תָּבֹא אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לְךָ אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבַשׁ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי־אֲבֹתֶיךָ לָךְ׃
4And when you have crossed the Jordan, set up these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command you today, and coat them with plaster.
4וְהָיָה בְּעָבְרְכֶם אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן תָּקִימוּ אֶת־הָאֲבָנִים הָאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם הַיֹּום בְּהַר עֵיבָל וְשַׂדְתָּ אֹותָם בַּשִּׂיד׃
5Build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool upon them.
5וּבָנִיתָ שָּׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ מִזְבַּח אֲבָנִים לֹא־תָנִיף עֲלֵיהֶם בַּרְזֶל׃
6Build the altar of the LORD your God with fieldstones and offer burnt offerings on it to the LORD your God.
6אֲבָנִים שְׁלֵמֹות תִּבְנֶה אֶת־מִזְבַּח יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ וְהַעֲלִיתָ עָלָיו עֹולֹת לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ׃
7Sacrifice fellowship offerings there, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the LORD your God.
7וְזָבַחְתָּ שְׁלָמִים וְאָכַלְתָּ שָּׁם וְשָׂמַחְתָּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ׃
8And you shall write very clearly all the words of this law on these stones you have set up.'
8וְכָתַבְתָּ עַל־הָאֲבָנִים אֶת־כָּל־דִּבְרֵי הַתֹּורָה הַזֹּאת בַּאֵר הֵיטֵב׃ ס
9Then Moses and the priests, who are Levites, said to all Israel, 'Be silent, O Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the LORD your God.
9וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה וְהַכֹּהֲנִים הַלְוִיִּם אֶל כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר הַסְכֵּת וּשְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל הַיֹּום הַזֶּה נִהְיֵיתָ לְעָם לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ׃
10Obey the LORD your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.'
10וְשָׁמַעְתָּ בְּקֹול יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ וְעָשִׂיתָ אֶת־מִצְוֹתָוq וְאֶת־חֻקָּיו אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיֹּום׃ ס
11On the same day Moses commanded the people:
11וַיְצַו מֹשֶׁה אֶת־הָעָם בַּיֹּום הַהוּא לֵאמֹר׃
12When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.
12אֵלֶּה יַעַמְדוּ לְבָרֵךְ אֶת־הָעָם עַל־הַר גְּרִזִים בְּעָבְרְכֶם אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן שִׁמְעֹון וְלֵוִי וִיהוּדָה וְיִשָּׂשכָר וְיֹוסֵף וּבִנְיָמִן׃
13And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.
13וְאֵלֶּה יַעַמְדוּ עַל־הַקְּלָלָה בְּהַר עֵיבָל רְאוּבֵן גָּד וְאָשֵׁר וּזְבוּלֻן דָּן וְנַפְתָּלִי׃
14The Levites shall recite to all the people of Israel in a loud voice:
14וְעָנוּ הַלְוִיִּם וְאָמְרוּ אֶל־כָּל־אִישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל קֹול רָם׃ ס
15"Cursed is the man who carves an image or casts an idol-a thing detestable to the LORD, the work of the craftsman's hands-and sets it up in secret." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
15אָרוּר הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה פֶסֶל וּמַסֵּכָה תֹּועֲבַת יְהוָה מַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵי חָרָשׁ וְשָׂם בַּסָּתֶר וְעָנוּ כָל־הָעָם וְאָמְרוּ אָמֵן׃ ס
16'Cursed is the man who dishonors his father or his mother.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
16אָרוּר מַקְלֶה אָבִיו וְאִמֹּו וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
17"Cursed is the man who moves his neighbor's boundary stone." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
17אָרוּר מַסִּיג גְּבוּל רֵעֵהוּ וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
18'Cursed is the man who leads the blind astray on the road.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
18אָרוּר מַשְׁגֶּה עִוֵּר בַּדָּרֶךְ וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
19'Cursed is the man who withholds justice from the alien, the fatherless or the widow.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
19אָרוּר מַטֶּה מִשְׁפַּט גֵּר־יָתֹום וְאַלְמָנָה וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
20"Cursed is the man who sleeps with his father's wife, for he dishonors his father's bed." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
20אָרוּר שֹׁכֵב עִם־אֵשֶׁת אָבִיו כִּי גִלָּה כְּנַף אָבִיו וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
21'Cursed is the man who has sexual relations with any animal.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
21אָרוּר שֹׁכֵב עִם־כָּל־בְּהֵמָה וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
22'Cursed is the man who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
22אָרוּר שֹׁכֵב עִם־אֲחֹתֹו בַּת־אָבִיו אֹו בַת־אִמֹּו וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
23'Cursed is the man who sleeps with his mother-in-law.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
23אָרוּר שֹׁכֵב עִם־חֹתַנְתֹּו וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
24'Cursed is the man who kills his neighbor secretly.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
24אָרוּר מַכֵּה רֵעֵהוּ בַּסָּתֶר וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
25'Cursed is the man who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
25אָרוּר לֹקֵחַ שֹׁחַד לְהַכֹּות נֶפֶשׁ דָּם נָקִי וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ס
26'Cursed is the man who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out.' Then all the people shall say, 'Amen!'
26אָרוּר אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָקִים אֶת־דִּבְרֵי הַתֹּורָה־הַזֹּאת לַעֲשֹׂות אֹותָם וְאָמַר כָּל־הָעָם אָמֵן׃ ף
1모세와 이스라엘 장로들이 백성에게 명령했습니다. "오늘 내가 여러분에게 주는 모든 명령을 지키시오.
2여러분은 곧 요단 강을 건너서 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 주시는 땅으로 들어갈 것이오. 그 날이 오면 큰 돌들을 세우고 그 위에 석회를 칠하시오.
3그리고 강을 건너면 바로 이 모든 가르침의 말씀을 그 돌들 위에 새겨 놓으시오. 그렇게 하면 여러분 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 약속하신 대로, 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 주시는 땅으로 들어가 그 곳을 차지하여 살게 될 것이오. 그 땅은 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 비옥한 곳이오.
4요단 강을 건넌 뒤에는 이 돌들을 내가 오늘 명령한 대로 에발 산 위에 세우고, 그 위에 석회를 칠하시오.
5그리고 그 곳에서 여러분의 하나님 여호와께 돌 제단을 쌓으시오. 제단을 쌓을 때는 돌을 쇠 연장으로 다듬지 마시오.
6여러분은 여러분의 하나님 여호와께 다듬지 않은 돌로 제단을 쌓으시오. 그런 다음 그 제단 위에 하나님 여호와께 태워 드리는 제사인 번제를 바치시오.
7화목 제물도 바치시오. 그리고 그 곳에서 음식을 먹으면서 여러분의 하나님 여호와 앞에서 즐거워하시오.
8여러분은 그 돌들 위에 이 모든 가르침의 말씀을 정확히 새기시오."
9모세와 레위 사람인 제사장들이 온 이스라엘에게 말했습니다. "이스라엘 백성들이여, 조용히 하고 잘 들으시오. 여러분은 오늘 하나님 여호와의 백성이 되었소.
10그러므로 하나님 여호와의 말씀에 복종하고 내가 오늘 여러분에게 주는 여호와의 명령과 율법을 잘 지키시오."
11그 날 모세는 백성에게 이렇게 명령했습니다.
12"여러분은 요단 강을 건널 것이오. 그 때가 되면 시므온, 레위, 유다, 잇사갈, 요셉, 그리고 베냐민 지파는 그리심 산 위에 서서 백성을 향해 축복하시오.
13그리고 르우벤, 갓, 아셀, 스불론, 단, 그리고 납달리 지파는 에발 산 위에 서서 백성을 향해 저주하시오.
14레위 사람은 큰 소리로 모든 이스라엘 백성에게 이렇게 말하시오.
15'대장장이를 시켜서 우상을 조각하거나 쇠를 녹여 만들어서 남몰래 세우는 사람은 저주를 받는다. 여호와께서는 사람이 만든 우상을 역겨워하신다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
16'자기 아버지나 어머니를 업신여기는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
17'너희 이웃의 땅이 어디까지인가를 표시해 주는 돌을 옮기는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
18'보지 못하는 사람을 잘못된 길로 이끄는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
19'외국인과 고아와 과부를 공정하게 대하지 않는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
20'자기 아버지의 아내와 함께 자는 사람은 저주를 받는다. 그것은 자기 아버지를 부끄럽게 하는 짓이다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
21'짐승과 함께 자는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
22'자기 아버지의 딸이든지 어머니의 딸이든지 자기 누이와 함께 자는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
23'자기 장모와 함께 자는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
24'남몰래 이웃을 죽이는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
25'돈을 받고 죄 없는 사람을 죽이는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오.
26'이 가르침의 말씀을 간직하고 따르지 않는 사람은 저주를 받는다.' 모든 백성은 '아멘!'이라고 말하시오."
