1The whole assembly of the Israelites gathered at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting there. The country was brought under their control, |
1וַיִּקָּהֲלוּ כָּל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל שִׁלֹה וַיַּשְׁכִּינוּ שָׁם אֶת־אֹהֶל מֹועֵד וְהָאָרֶץ נִכְבְּשָׁה לִפְנֵיהֶם׃ |

2but there were still seven Israelite tribes who had not yet received their inheritance. |
2וַיִּוָּתְרוּ בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר לֹא־חָלְקוּ אֶת־נַחֲלָתָם שִׁבְעָה שְׁבָטִים׃ |

3So Joshua said to the Israelites: 'How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you? |
3וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹושֻׁעַ אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַד־אָנָה אַתֶּם מִתְרַפִּים לָבֹוא לָרֶשֶׁת אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָכֶם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹותֵיכֶם׃ |

4Appoint three men from each tribe. I will send them out to make a survey of the land and to write a description of it, according to the inheritance of each. Then they will return to me. |
4הָבוּ לָכֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה אֲנָשִׁים לַשָּׁבֶט וְאֶשְׁלָחֵם וְיָקֻמוּ וְיִתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ וְיִכְתְּבוּ אֹותָהּ לְפִי נַחֲלָתָם וְיָבֹאוּ אֵלָי׃ |

5You are to divide the land into seven parts. Judah is to remain in its territory on the south and the house of Joseph in its territory on the north. |
5וְהִתְחַלְּקוּ אֹתָהּ לְשִׁבְעָה חֲלָקִים יְהוּדָה יַעֲמֹד עַל־גְּבוּלֹו מִנֶּגֶב וּבֵית יֹוסֵף יַעַמְדוּ עַל־גְּבוּלָם מִצָּפֹון׃ |

6After you have written descriptions of the seven parts of the land, bring them here to me and I will cast lots for you in the presence of the LORD our God. |
6וְאַתֶּם תִּכְתְּבוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ שִׁבְעָה חֲלָקִים וַהֲבֵאתֶם אֵלַי הֵנָּה וְיָרִיתִי לָכֶם גֹּורָל פֹּה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ׃ |

7The Levites, however, do not get a portion among you, because the priestly service of the LORD is their inheritance. And Gad, Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received their inheritance on the east side of the Jordan. Moses the servant of the LORD gave it to them.' |
7כִּי אֵין־חֵלֶק לַלְוִיִּם בְּקִרְבְּכֶם כִּי־כְהֻנַּת יְהוָה נַחֲלָתֹו וְגָד וּרְאוּבֵן וַחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַמְנַשֶּׁה לָקְחוּ נַחֲלָתָם מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן מִזְרָחָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה עֶבֶד יְהוָה׃ |

8As the men started on their way to map out the land, Joshua instructed them, 'Go and make a survey of the land and write a description of it. Then return to me, and I will cast lots for you here at Shiloh in the presence of the LORD.' |
8וַיָּקֻמוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים וַיֵּלֵכוּ וַיְצַו יְהֹושֻׁעַ אֶת־הַהֹלְכִים לִכְתֹּב אֶת־הָאָרֶץ לֵאמֹר לְכוּ וְהִתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ וְכִתְבוּ אֹותָהּ וְשׁוּבוּ אֵלַי וּפֹה אַשְׁלִיךְ לָכֶם גֹּורָל לִפְנֵי יְהוָה בְּשִׁלֹה׃ |

9So the men left and went through the land. They wrote its description on a scroll, town by town, in seven parts, and returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh. |
9וַיֵּלְכוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים וַיַּעַבְרוּ בָאָרֶץ וַיִּכְתְּבוּהָ לֶעָרִים לְשִׁבְעָה חֲלָקִים עַל־סֵפֶר וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־יְהֹושֻׁעַ אֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶה שִׁלֹה׃ |

10Joshua then cast lots for them in Shiloh in the presence of the LORD, and there he distributed the land to the Israelites according to their tribal divisions. |
10וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ לָהֶם יְהֹושֻׁעַ גֹּורָל בְּשִׁלֹה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וַיְחַלֶּק־שָׁם יְהֹושֻׁעַ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כְּמַחְלְקֹתָם׃ ף |

11The lot came up for the tribe of Benjamin, clan by clan. Their allotted territory lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph: |
11וַיַּעַל גֹּורַל מַטֵּה בְנֵי־בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וַיֵּצֵא גְּבוּל גֹּורָלָם בֵּין בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה וּבֵין בְּנֵי יֹוסֵף׃ |

12On the north side their boundary began at the Jordan, passed the northern slope of Jericho and headed west into the hill country, coming out at the desert of Beth Aven. |
12וַיְהִי לָהֶם הַגְּבוּל לִפְאַת צָפֹונָה מִן־הַיַּרְדֵּן וְעָלָה הַגְּבוּל אֶל־כֶּתֶף יְרִיחֹו מִצָּפֹון וְעָלָה בָהָר יָמָּה [כ= וְהָיָה] [ק= וְהָיוּ] תֹּצְאֹתָיו מִדְבַּרָה בֵּית אָוֶן׃ |

13From there it crossed to the south slope of Luz (that is, Bethel) and went down to Ataroth Addar on the hill south of Lower Beth Horon. |
13וְעָבַר מִשָּׁם הַגְּבוּל לוּזָה אֶל־כֶּתֶף לוּזָה נֶגְבָּה הִיא בֵּית־אֵל וְיָרַד הַגְּבוּל עַטְרֹות אַדָּר עַל־הָהָר אֲשֶׁר מִנֶּגֶב לְבֵית־חֹרֹון תַּחְתֹּון׃ |

14From the hill facing Beth Horon on the south the boundary turned south along the western side and came out at Kiriath Baal (that is, Kiriath Jearim), a town of the people of Judah. This was the western side. |
14וְתָאַר הַגְּבוּל וְנָסַב לִפְאַת־יָם נֶגְבָּה מִן־הָהָר אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי בֵית־חֹרֹון נֶגְבָּה [כ= וְהָיָה] [ק= וְהָיוּ] תֹצְאֹתָיו אֶל־קִרְיַת־בַּעַל הִיא קִרְיַת יְעָרִים עִיר בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה זֹאת פְּאַת־יָם׃ |

15The southern side began at the outskirts of Kiriath Jearim on the west, and the boundary came out at the spring of the waters of Nephtoah. |
15וּפְאַת־נֶגְבָּה מִקְצֵה קִרְיַת יְעָרִים וְיָצָא הַגְּבוּל יָמָּה וְיָצָא אֶל־מַעְיַן מֵי נֶפְתֹּוחַ׃ |

16The boundary went down to the foot of the hill facing the Valley of Ben Hinnom, north of the Valley of Rephaim. It continued down the Hinnom Valley along the southern slope of the Jebusite city and so to En Rogel. |
16וְיָרַד הַגְּבוּל אֶל־קְצֵה הָהָר אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי גֵּי בֶן־הִנֹּם אֲשֶׁר בְּעֵמֶק רְפָאִים צָפֹונָה וְיָרַד גֵּי הִנֹּם אֶל־כֶּתֶף הַיְבוּסִי נֶגְבָּה וְיָרַד עֵין רֹגֵל׃ |

17It then curved north, went to En Shemesh, continued to Geliloth, which faces the Pass of Adummim, and ran down to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben. |
17וְתָאַר מִצָּפֹון וְיָצָא עֵין שֶׁמֶשׁ וְיָצָא אֶל־גְּלִילֹות אֲשֶׁר־נֹכַח מַעֲלֵה אֲדֻמִּים וְיָרַד אֶבֶן בֹּהַן בֶּן־רְאוּבֵן׃ |

18It continued to the northern slope of Beth Arabah and on down into the Arabah. |
18וְעָבַר אֶל־כֶּתֶף מוּל־הָעֲרָבָה צָפֹונָה וְיָרַד הָעֲרָבָתָה׃ |
|
19It then went to the northern slope of Beth Hoglah and came out at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the mouth of the Jordan in the south. This was the southern boundary. |
19וְעָבַר הַגְּבוּל אֶל־כֶּתֶף בֵּית־חָגְלָה צָפֹונָה [כ= וְהָיָה] [ק= וְהָיוּ] [כ= תֹּצְאֹותָיו] [ק= תֹּצְאֹות] הַגְּבוּל אֶל־לְשֹׁון יָם־הַמֶּלַח צָפֹונָה אֶל־קְצֵה הַיַּרְדֵּן נֶגְבָּה זֶה גְּבוּל נֶגֶב׃ |

20The Jordan formed the boundary on the eastern side. These were the boundaries that marked out the inheritance of the clans of Benjamin on all sides. |
20וְהַיַּרְדֵּן יִגְבֹּל־אֹתֹו לִפְאַת־קֵדְמָה זֹאת נַחֲלַת בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן לִגְבוּלֹתֶיהָ סָבִיב לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם׃ |

21The tribe of Benjamin, clan by clan, had the following cities: Jericho, Beth Hoglah, Emek Keziz, |
21וְהָיוּ הֶעָרִים לְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹותֵיהֶם יְרִיחֹו וּבֵית־חָגְלָה וְעֵמֶק קְצִיץ׃ |

22Beth Arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel, |

24Kephar Ammoni, Ophni and Geba-twelve towns and their villages. |

28Zelah, Haeleph, the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah and Kiriath-fourteen towns and their villages. This was the inheritance of Benjamin for its clans. |
28וְצֵלַע הָאֶלֶף וְהַיְבוּסִי הִיא יְרוּשָׁלִַם גִּבְעַת קִרְיַת עָרִים אַרְבַּע־עֶשְׂרֵה וְחַצְרֵיהֶן זֹאת נַחֲלַת בְּנֵי־בִנְיָמִן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם׃ ף |
1이스라엘 사람 모두가 실로에 모여 그 곳에 회막을 세웠습니다. 그 땅은 이미 이스라엘에게 정복되었습니다.
2그러나 이스라엘의 일곱 지파는 아직 하나님께서 약속하신 땅을 받지 못했습니다.
3그래서 여호수아는 이스라엘 사람들에게 말했습니다. "여러분은 언제까지 땅을 차지하러 가는 것을 미루려고 합니까? 우리 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 이 땅을 여러분에게 주셨소.
4이제 각 지파에서 세 사람씩 뽑으시오. 내가 그들을 보내어 그 땅을 정탐하도록 하겠소. 그들은 그 땅을 두루 돌아다니며 자기들의 지파가 얻게 될 땅의 모양을 그려서 나에게로 돌아오게 할 것이오.
5그들은 그 땅을 일곱 부분으로 나눌 것이오. 유다 백성은 남쪽 자기들의 땅에 그대로 있게 될 것이고, 요셉의 백성도 북쪽 자기들의 땅 안에 그대로 있게 될 것이오.
6여러분은 그 땅을 일곱 부분으로 나누고 그 일곱 부분의 모습을 그려서 나에게 가지고 오시오. 나는 여기, 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 제비를 뽑아 그 땅을 여러분에게 나누어 주겠소.
7그러나 레위 지파는 그 땅 중의 어떤 부분도 가질 수 없소. 그것은 여호와를 위한 제사장 직무가 그들의 몫이기 때문이오. 갓과 르우벤과 므낫세 지파 절반은 그들에게 약속된 땅을 이미 받았고 그들의 땅은 요단 강 동쪽에 있소. 여호와의 종인 모세가 그 땅을 그들에게 주었소."
8그리하여 각 지파에서 뽑힌 사람들은 그 땅을 향해 떠났습니다. 여호수아가 땅을 그리러 가는 그 사람들에게 말했습니다. "가서 그 땅을 두루 다녀 보시오. 그리고 그 땅의 모습을 그려서 나에게 가지고 오시오. 그러면 내가 여러분이 가질 땅에 대해 여호와 앞에서 제비를 뽑도록 하겠소. 그 일은 여기 실로에서 할 것이오."
9그 사람들은 그 땅으로 들어가 두루 돌아다녔습니다. 그리고 마을별로 그 땅을 일곱 부분으로 나누어 책에 그렸습니다. 그들은 실로의 진에 있었던 여호수아에게 돌아왔습니다.
10여호수아는 여호와 앞에서 그들을 위하여 제비를 뽑았습니다. 그는 실로에서 이스라엘 자손들에게 그 땅을 나누어 주었습니다.
11그 땅의 첫 번째 부분은 베냐민 지파가 받았습니다. 베냐민 지파의 모든 집안이 자기 땅을 받았습니다. 그 땅의 경계선은 유다의 땅과 요셉의 땅 중간이었습니다.
12북쪽 경계는 요단 강에서 시작되어 여리고의 북쪽 모서리를 따라 이어지다가 서쪽의 산지로 나아갑니다. 그 경계는 벧 아웬 광야까지 이어집니다.
13거기에서 남쪽으로 내려가 루스 곧 벧엘로 이어지고, 루스에서는 남으로 더 내려가 아다롯 앗달로 이어집니다. 아다롯 앗달은 아래 벧 호론의 남쪽언덕 위에 있습니다.
14벧 호론 남쪽으로 언덕이 하나 있는데 이 언덕에서 경계의 방향이 바뀝니다. 언덕의 서쪽면에 가까운 남쪽으로 내려가면 기럇 바알, 곧 기럇 여아림이라는 곳으로 이어집니다. 이 곳은 유다 백성이 사는 마을이며 여기가 서쪽의 끝입니다.
15남쪽 경계는 기럇 여아림 끝에서 시작되어 서쪽으로 나아가 넵도아 샘으로 이어집니다.
16거기에서 밑으로 내려가면 언덕 아래로 이어지는데, 그 곳은 힌놈 골짜기에서 가깝습니다. 힌놈 골짜기는 르바임 골짜기의 북쪽에 있습니다. 거기서 여부스 앞쪽을 지나서 엔 로겔로 이어집니다.
17거기에서 방향을 북쪽으로 바꾸어 엔 세메스로 이어지다가 계속해서 산지에 있는 아둠밈 고갯길 가까이의 그릴롯에 이릅니다. 거기에서 르우벤 자손인 보한의 돌까지 내려갑니다.
18이어서 북쪽으로 아라바 맞은편을 지나서 아라바까지 내려갑니다.
19거기에서 다시 벧 호글라의 북쪽으로 이어져서 사해의 북쪽 해안에서 끝납니다. 그 곳은 요단 강 물이 바다로 흘러들어가는 곳입니다. 그 곳이 남쪽 끝입니다.
20요단 강은 동쪽의 경계입니다. 이상이 베냐민의 각 후손이 받은 땅이고 사방의 경계입니다.
21베냐민 자손의 각 집안이 받은 성들은 다음과 같습니다. 여리고, 벧 호글라, 에멕 그시스,
22벧 아라바, 스마라임, 벧엘,
23아윔, 바라, 오브라,
24그발 암모니, 오브니, 게바로 모두 열두 개의 성과 그 주변 마을들이었습니다.
25또 기브온, 라마, 브에롯,
26미스베, 그비라, 모사,
27레겜, 이르브엘, 다랄라,
28셀라, 엘렙, 여부스, 곧 예루살렘, 기부앗, 그리고 기럇으로 모두 열네 개의 성과 그 주변 마을이었습니다. 이 모든 지역이 베냐민 자손들이 받은 땅이었습니다.
