5월 27일 마태복음 14:18 이르시되 그것을 내게 가져오라 하시고
지금 이 순간 여러분은 필요에 둘러싸여 있습니까? 어려움과 시련과 온통 위급한 일들에 짓눌려 있습니까? 이러한 것들은 모두 여러분에게 성령께서 채우실 그릇을 마련해 주시려는 하나님의 방법입니다. 우리에게 오는 어려움과 고난의 의미를 올바로 이해해야 합니다. 그것은 다른 방법으로는 얻을 수 없는 새로운 축복과 구원의 기회입니다.
주께서 여러분에게 말씀하십니다. “그것을 내게 가져오라.” 이제 주께서 채우실 그릇을 그분 앞에서 믿음과 기도로 단단히 붙들고 있어야 합니다. 그분 앞에서 잠잠하십시오. 그리고 그분께서 일을 시작하실 때까지 여러분의 그 번거로운 움직임을 멈추십시오. 그분께서 하라고 직접 말씀하지 아니한 일은 어느 것도 하지 마십시오. 하나님께 일하실 시간을 드리십시오. 그분께서는 반드시 행하십니다. 그리하면, 낙심과 재난으로 우리를 짓누르려는 바로 그 시련이 우리 삶에서 하나님의 은혜와 영광을 전혀 새롭게 드러내는 기회가 될 것입니다.
"네 필요를 내게 가져오라."
"나의 하나님이 그리스도 예수 안에서 영광 가운데 그 풍성한 대로 너희 모든 쓸 것을 채우시리라" (빌 4:19).
이 필요를 누가 채웁니까? “하나님이” 채우십니다! 얼마나 채웁니까? "영광 가운데 그 풍성한 대로” 채우십니다! 누구를 통해서 채웁니까? “그리스도 예수를 통해서" 채우십니다! 우리의 모든 필요를 그분의 영광스러운 부요에 맡기고, 그 부요 앞에서 우리의 필요를 잊을 수 있으니 얼마나 거룩한 특권인지 모릅니다. 그분께서 크신 사랑으로 다함없는 창고를 우리 앞에 열어젖히셨습니다. 가서 어린아이 같은 믿음으로 그분께 요청하면, 우리는 이제 더 이상 다른 것에 의지할 필요를 느끼지 못할 것입니다.
"내 잔이 넘치나이다" (시 23:5)
언제나 넘치는 것이 있다.
우리 은혜로우신 주님 의지할 때면,
잔마다 넘치고, 그분의 강은 넓다.
작고 인색한 것, 그분의 창고에서
결코 나오는 법 없으니,
당신의 자녀들에게 넉넉히 주시고
넘쳐서 흐르도록 주신다.
언제나 넘치는 것이 있다.
아버지의 손에서 우리의 분깃
감사함으로 받아 들고
우리 앞에 마련하신 길 찬양할 때면,
크고 깊은 만족, 영혼에 흘러넘치고
우리의 눈 환히 밝아진다.
예수께서 영혼의 모든 필요.
채우시리라 믿을 때면,
언제나 넘치는” 것이 있다.
그분의 모든 사랑 이야기할 때면,
어떠한 말로도 그 깊이 더 내려갈 수 없고
어떠한 말로도 그 높이 더 오를 수 없으니,
인간의 입술로는 그분의 놀라우신 온유
결코 모두 다 표현할 수 없고
우리는 다만 찬양하고 경배할 뿐,
그분의 이름 영원히 복되시리니.

He Satisfies Our Soul
Bring them hither to me — Matt 14:18
Are you encompassed with needs at this very moment, and almost overwhelmed with difficulties, trials, and emergencies? These are all divinely provided vessels for the Holy Spirit to fill, and if you but rightly understood their meaning, they would become opportunities for receiving new blessings and deliverances which you can get in no other way.
Bring these vessels to God. Hold them steadily before Him in faith and prayer. Keep still, and stop your own restless working until He begins to work. Do nothing that He does not Himself command you to do. Give Him a chance to work, and He will surely do so; and the very trials that threatened to overcome you with discouragement and disaster, will become God’s opportunity for the revelation of His grace and glory in your life, as you have never known Him before. “Bring them (all needs) to me.” —A. “My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19).
What a source—“God!” What a supply—“His riches in glory!” What a channel—“Christ Jesus!” It is your sweet privilege to place all your need over against His riches, and lose sight of the former in the presence of the latter. His exhaustless treasury is thrown open to you, in all the love of His heart; go and draw upon it, in the artless simplicity of faith, and you will never have occasion to look to a creature-stream, or lean on a creature-prop. —C.
