생명의 주님,
제가 주님의 법을 지키기를 원합니다.
주님과의 교제를 누리기를 원합니다.
충성을 다하여 오직 주님만 섬기기를 원합니다.
주께서 새로운 한 날 감당할 사명을 주셔서 저를 보내셨으니
먼저 주님 앞에 무릎을 꿇습니다.
새 날을 주신 주께 아주 작은 제 감사의 마음을 드립니다.
오늘도 기쁨과 환희를 주셔서 감사합니다.
긴 밤을 기다려 유익하고 유쾌한 일들을 만나게 하시니 감사합니다.
가능성을 향해 열린 문을 주시니 감사합니다.
새롭게 시작할 수 있는 소망을 주시니 감사합니다.
주님 간구하오니, 제 마음을 소성케 하셔서
이 날 주께서 주신 기회를 맘껏 사용할 수 있게 하옵소서,
제가 어제 약속한 것들을 하나도 어기지 않게 하시고,
어제 한 잘못들을 오늘 고치지 않은 채 내버려 두지 않게 하옵소서.
곤경에 처한 지체를 보고도 모른 체 하지 않게 하시고,
중요한 의무를 시도해 보지도 않고 포기하거나,
제 악한 습관을 비판하지 않은 채 그냥 두지 않게 하옵소서.
제 행동으로 이 세상이 더 살기 좋은 곳이 되는데 도움이 될 수 있다면,
제가 기도하고 말하고 행동하게 하옵소서.
오 주님, 저에게 공손함을 주소서.
결단력 있게 잘 견딜 수 있는 온유함을 주소서.
오래 참는 마음과 자애의 마음을 주시고,
순결함을 주소서. 진실하게 말하게 하시고, 제게 맡겨진 일에 성실하게 하소서.
때가 차매 우리 주 예수 그리스도를
죽은 자 가운데서 일으키시고 당신의 사랑을 아는 지식으로
우리의 마음을 밝혀주시는 하나님,
제게 그 이름에 합당한 은혜를 베풀어 주옵소서. 아멘.
Lord of my life, whose law I gladly would keep, whose fellowship I gladly would enjoy, and to whose service I would gladly be loyal, I kneel before You as You send me forth to the work of another day.
For this new day I give You humble thanks:
for its gladness and brightness
for its long hours waiting to be filled with joyous and helpful work
for its open doors of possibility
for its hope of new beginnings.
Quicken in my heart, I ask You, the desire to take advantage richly of this day's opportunity. Let me not break faith with any of yesterday's promises, nor leave unrepaired any of yesterday's wrongs. Let me see no fellow traveler in distress and pass by on the other side. Let me leave no height of duty behind me unattempted, nor any evil habit unassaulted. Where any action of mine can help to make this world a better place for men to live in, where any word of mine can cheer a despondent heart or brace a weak will, where any prayer of mine can serve the extension of Christ's Kingdom, there let me do and speak and pray:
This day, Lord,
give me courtesy
give me humility of bearing, with decision of character
give me patience
give me charity
give me self-control
give me sincerity of speech
give me diligence in my assigned task.
You, who in the fullness of time raised up our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to enlighten our hearts with the knowledge of Your love, grant me the grace to be worthy of His name. Amen.
내 생명의 주님이시여, 당신의 법을 내가 기꺼이 지키기를 원하며 당신과의 교제를 즐기기를 원하며 충성스럽게 당신을 섬기기를 원합니다. 이제 또다시 한 날의 일터로 나를 보내시는 주님께 무릎을 꿇습니다.
이 새로운 날에 겸손한 마음으로 감사를 드립니다.
새 날의 반가움과 밝음으로 인하여
기쁨과 도움이 되는 일로 가득 채워지기를 바라는 긴 시간들로 인하여
그 가능성의 열린 문들로 인하여
새로운 출발의 소망으로 인하여 감사를 드립니다.
이 날에 주어진 기회를 잘 사용할 수 있기를 원하는 욕구를 내 마음속에 일으켜 주시옵소서. 어제의 약속을 깨지 말게 하시고, 어제의 잘못을 고치지 않은 채로 남겨두지 말게 하소서. 고통 중에 있는 나그네를 그냥 두고 다른 길로 가지 않게 하소서. 나에게 주어진 의무를 수행하지 않거나 나의 악한 습관을 버리지 않고 그대로 놓아두지 말게 하소서. 나의 행위가 이 세상을 사람들이 살기에 더 나은 장소가 되게 하는 곳에서, 나의 말이 낙심한 사람의 마음을 기쁘게 하며 약한 의지를 가진 사람을 감싸줄 수 있는 곳에서, 나의 기도가 그리스도의 왕국을 넓혀가는 일에 도움이 되는 곳에서, 바로 그런 곳에서 행동하고 말하고 기도하게 하소서.
주여 오늘도 나에게
친절한 마음을 주시옵소서
강한 의지와 함께 온유한 마음도 주시옵소서
오래 참음을 주시옵소서
관용을 주시옵소서
순결을 주시옵소서
말의 진실함을 주시옵소서
주어진 일에서 부지런하게 하옵소서.
당신의 사랑의 지식으로 우리들의 마음을 밝히기 위해서, 때가 되어 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 살리신 주님, 그의 이름에 합당한 은혜를 베풀어 주시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도하옵나이다. 아멘
