전능하시고 영원하신 하나님,
제 눈으로는 주님을 볼 수 없고, 제 지각으로는 주님을 이해할 수도 없습니다.
주님의 생각은 제 생각과 달라서 주님의 길을 찾을 수도 없습니다.
하지만 주님은 성령으로 제 삶 속에 들어오셨고,
제 지각을 형성하시어 당신을 찾게 하셨으며, 제 마음을 지어 당신을 사랑하게 하셨습니다.
또 저로 하여금 주님 안에 있는 안식을 누리게 하시려고 쉬지 못하게 하셨으며,
이 세상의 어떤 기쁨으로도 만족하지 않게 하시려고
제 안에 깊은 허기와 갈증을 허락하셨습니다.
오 주 하나님, 제가 주님의 이름을 찬양하고 높이오니 이 날도 제 마음 가장 깊은 곳에 당신의 인을 치셔서 보잘것없고 하찮은 이기심이나 짐승의 정욕과 탐욕이 다스리는 외로운 제국에 저를 버려두지 마옵시고, 당신의 영원한 왕국의 상속자로 불러 주옵소서.
제 마음의 문을 두드리심으로 제가 주님의 임재를 기다릴 수 있도록 경고하여 주시는 주님을 찬양합니다.
주의 손으로 제 생명을 보호하시고, 제가 아무리 비틀거리고 넘어질지라도 늘 주의 영원한 팔이 저를 떠받치고 있음을 분명히 알게 하시는 주님을 찬양합니다.
오늘 제게 무슨 일이 일어날지 홀로 아시는 오 하나님,
이 하루 시간마다 제가 주님 곁에 가까이 있게 하소서.
제가 세상에 있지만 세상에 속하지 않게 하시고,
이 세상의 것을 사용하되 남용하지는 않게 하소서.
무엇을 사더라도 그것을 소유하지 않을 것처럼 여기게 하시고,
아무것도 갖지 못할지라도, 모든 것을 가진 듯이 여기게 하소서.
오 주님, 이 날 저를 향한 주의 뜻과 일치하지 않는 일은 시작하지도 않게 하시고,
주의 뜻이 제가 희생하는 것일지라도 그것을 결코 외면하지 않게 하옵소서.
주님,
제 마음에 매 순간 권고하시고 명령하시고 다스려 주옵소서.
주 예수님으로 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.
Almighty and eternal God,
You are hidden from my sight;
You are beyond the understanding of my mind;
Your thoughts are not like my thoughts;
Your ways are beyond finding out.
Yet You have breathed Your Spirit into my life;
Yet You have formed my mind to seek You;
Yet You have inclined my heart to love You;
Yet You have made me restless for the rest that is in You;
Yet You have planted within me a hunger and thirst that make me dissatisfied with all the joys of earth.
O Lord God, I praise and magnify Your name that You have set Your seal upon my inmost being, not leaving me to my own poor and petty selfhood or to only the realm of physical passion and desire, but calling me to be an heir of Your eternal Kingdom. I bless You for that knocking at my heart's door that warns me of Your waiting presence. I bless You for Your hand upon my life, and for the sure knowledge that, however I may falter and fail, yet underneath are Your everlasting arms.
O You who alone knows what lies before me this day, grant that in every hour of it I may stay close to You. Let me be in the world, yet not of it. Let me use this world without abusing it. If I buy, let me be as though I do possess nothing. If I have nothing, let me be as though possessing all things. Let me today embark on no undertaking that is not in line with Your will for my life, nor shrink from any sacrifice which Your will may demand. Suggest, direct, control every movement of my mind; for my Lord Christ's sake. Amen.

당신은 나의 시야로부터 멀리 계시고
나의 이해가 미치지 못합니다.
당신의 생각은 내 생각과 다르고
당신의 길은 내 길과 다릅니다.
그래도 주님은 당신의 영을 나에게 불어넣으셨습니다.
그래도 주님은 내가 당신을 찾도록 내 생각을 조성하셨습니다.
그래도 주님은 내 마음이 당신을 사랑하도록 하셨습니다.
그래도 주님은 당신 안에서 내가 안식을 찾기까지 나에게 평안이 없게 하셨습니다.
그래도 주님은 내가 세상의 기쁨으로 만족하지 않도록 내 안에 굶주림과 갈증을 심어놓으셨습니다.
주 하나님, 나의 마음 깊은 곳에 인쳐 주심으로 당신의 것 삼아 주심을 찬송합니다. 주님은 나를 하찮은 이기심이나 동물적인 욕구에 버려두지 않으시고 영원한 나라의 상속자로 불러주심을 찬송합니다. 임재하여 기다리시고 계심을 알려 주시기 위해 내 마음의 문을 두드리심을 찬송합니다. 주님의 손이 항상 내 삶을 감싸시며 비록 내가 흔들리며 실패할지라도 내가 주님의 영원한 팔 아래 있음을 알기에 당신을 찬송합니다.
오늘 내 앞에 무슨 일이 있을지 아시는 유일하신 주님, 매 순간마다 당신께 가까이 있게 해 주소서. 세상 속에서 살지만 세상에 속한 자가 되지 말게 하소서. 이 세상의 것들을 잘못 사용하지 않게 하소서. 무엇을 사서 소유하게 될 때는 아무것도 소유하지 않은 것 같이 하시고, 가진 것이 없을 때에는 모든 것을 소유한 자처럼 되게 하소서. 무슨 일을 하든지 내 삶을 위한 주님의 뜻과 맞지 않는 일은 하지 않게 하시고, 주님이 원하시면 어떤 희생도 피하지 않게 해 주소서. 내 마음의 모든 움직임을 가르치시고 방향 잡아주시고 다스려주시옵소서. 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도하옵나이다. 아멘.
