전능하신 하나님, 한없는 지혜로 저로 하여금 제한된 시간과 환경 가운데 살도록 예정하셨으니, 이제 용기 있고 진실한 마음으로 세상을 향해 나아가게 하옵소서.
주께서는 제게 완전한 지식을 허락하지 않으심으로 제가 안 보이는 것을 붙잡을 수 있는 믿음의 은혜를 받아들이게 하셨습니다.
주께서는 제가 제 맘대로 무언가를 만들어 내기에는 너무 작은 능력을 주심으로 주님의 전능하신 능력을 사용하여 제 안에서 주님의 소원이 이뤄지게 하셨습니다.
주께서는 제가 수고와 아픔 가운데 오르막길을 오르게 하심으로 친히 제 여정에 동반자가 되어주셨습니다.
주께서 허락하신 일에 주께서 공급하시는 능력으로 직면하게 하소서.
주께서 제게 번영을 주실 때, 주님의 말씀이 제 마음속에 풍성하도록 주의하게 하소서.
주께서 제가 흑암의 골짜기를 지나도록 부르실 때,
지름길을 안다고 제 자신을 설득하지 않게 하소서.
오늘 주어질 섬김의 기회를 거절하지 않게 하시고,
오늘 저를 기다리는 유혹에 넘어가지 않게 하소서.
어제의 제가 오늘의 삶에서는 되풀이되지 않게 하시고,
오늘의 삶이 내일의 삶에 악한 모범이 되지 않게 하소서.
모든 세대마다 신실한 백성들의 영혼을 조명하여 주신, 내 선조들의 하나님, 오늘 우리 곁에 살아 있는 과거의 이야기들을 선물로 주신 것을 감사드립니다.
성도들의 삶과 그분들이 보여준 모범에서 얻은 도움을 인하여 감사드립니다.

Almighty God, who in Your infinite wisdom has ordained that I should live my life within these narrow bounds of time and circumstance, let me now go forth into the world with a brave and trustful heart. It has pleased You to withhold from me a perfect knowledge; therefore do not deny me the grace of faith by which I may lay hold of things unseen. You have given me little power to shape things to my own desire; therefore use Your own omnipotence to bring Your desires to pass within me. You have willed it that through work and pain I should walk the upward way; be then my fellow traveller as I go.
Let me face what You send with the strength You supply
When You prosper my undertakings, let me pay attention so that Your word may prosper in my heart
When You call me to go through the dark valley, let me not persuade myself that I know a way around
Let me not refuse any opportunity of service which may offer itself today, nor fall prey to any temptation that may lie in wait for me
Let not the sins of yesterday be repeated in the life of today, nor the life of today set any evil example to the life of tomorrow.
God of my ancestors, those who have in every age enlightened the souls of the faithful, I thank You for the gift of memory whereby the storied past still lives with us today. I thank You for the lives of the saints, and for the help that I may win from their example.
