3월 10일 스펄전 아침묵상 “내가 형통할 때에 말하기를 영영히 요동치 아니하리라 하였도다.” [시편 30편 6절]

March 10 "In my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved" (Psalm 30: 6). Give a man wealth and let his ships bring home continually rich freights.  Let his lands yield abundantly and the weather be favorable to his crops.  Let uninterrupted success attend him.  Let him enjoy continued health, and give him a happy heart.  Let his eyes be ever sparkling with joy, and the natural consequence of such an easy state, even if he is the best Christian who ever breathed, will be presumption.  Even David said, "I shall never be moved," and we are not better than David or half as good.  Beware of the smooth places of the way, if you are treading them.  If the way is rough, thank God for it.  If God would always rock un in the cradle of prosperity; if there were always few clouds in the sky; if we always had sweet drops in the wine of this life, we would become intoxicated with pleasure.  Like the man asleep upon the mast, each moment we would be in jeopardy.  We bless God in our afflictions; we thank Him for our changes; we extol His name during loss of property; for we feel that had He not chastened us thus, we might have become too secure.  Continual worldly prosperity is a fiery trial.     3월 10일 제목 : 형통할 때 "내가 형통할 때에 말하기를 영영히 요동치 아니하리라 하였도다" (시 30: 6). 한 사람에게 부를 주고 그의 배들이 계속해서 짐을 가득 싣고 돌아오게 하십시오.  그의 땅이 풍부하게 소출을 내게 하고 날씨가 그의 작물에 유리하게 하십시오.  성공이 끊임없이 그를 찾아가게 하십시오.  그가 계속 건강을 누리게 하고 그의 마음을 행복하게 하십시오.  그의 눈이 언제나 기쁨으로 빛나게 하십시오.  그러면 비록 그가 지금껏 살았던 가장 훌륭한 기독교인이라고 할지라도 이렇게 안락한 상태의 자연스러운 결과는 주제넘음이 될 것입니다.  다윗조차도 "영영히 요동치 아니하리라"라고 말했는데 우리는 다윗보다 낫거나 그의 반만큼도 훌륭하지도 않습니다.  그대가 가는 길에서 평탄한 부분을 걸어가고 있다면 그곳을 조심하십시오.  길이 험하다면 하나님께 그에 대해 감사하십시오.  하나님이 언제나 우리를 형통의 요람 속에 누이고 흔들어 주신다면, 하늘에 언제나 구름이 거의 없다면, 우리에게 언제나 이 인생의 술에 달콤한 맛만 있다면, 우리는 쾌락에 중독되고 말 것입니다.  돛대 위에서 잠이 든 사람처럼 매 순간 우리는 위태로울 것입니다.  우리는 우리의 환란 가운데에서 하나님을 찬양합니다.  우리는 우리의 변화에 대해 하나님께 감사합니다.  우리는 가진 것을 잃은 동안에 그의 이름을 높입니다.  왜냐하면 우리는 그분이 우리를 이렇게 책망하지 않았다면 우리가 너무 마음을 놓게(secure) 되었으리라고 생각하기 때문입니다.  세상에서 계속해서 형통하는 것은 불과 같은 시련입니다.
