1 The LORD said to Moses, 1 וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ 2 "Speak to Aaron and say to him, 'When you set up the seven lamps, they are to light the area in front of the lampstand.' " 2 דַּבֵּר אֶל־אַהֲרֹן וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו בְּהַעֲלֹתְךָ אֶת־הַנֵּרֹת אֶל־מוּל פְּנֵי הַמְּנֹורָה יָאִירוּ שִׁבְעַת הַנֵּרֹות׃ 3 Aaron did so; he set up the lamps so that they faced forward on the lampstand, just as the LORD commanded Moses. 3 וַיַּעַשׂ כֵּן אַהֲרֹן אֶל־מוּל פְּנֵי הַמְּנֹורָה הֶעֱלָה נֵרֹתֶיהָ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃ 4 This is how the lampstand was made: It was made of hammered gold-from its base to its blossoms. The lampstand was made exactly like the pattern the LORD had shown Moses. 4 וְזֶה מַעֲשֵׂה הַמְּנֹרָה מִקְשָׁה זָהָב עַד־יְרֵכָהּ עַד־פִּרְחָהּ מִקְשָׁה הִוא כַּמַּרְאֶה אֲשֶׁר הֶרְאָה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה כֵּן עָשָׂה אֶת־הַמְּנֹרָה׃ ף 5 The LORD said to Moses: 5 וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ 6 'Take the Levites from among the other Israelites and make them ceremonially clean. 6 קַח אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם מִתֹּוךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְטִהַרְתָּ אֹתָם׃ 7 To purify them, do this: Sprinkle the water of cleansing on them; then have them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes, and so purify themselves. 7 וְכֹה־תַעֲשֶׂה לָהֶם לְטַהֲרָם הַזֵּה עֲלֵיהֶם מֵי חַטָּאת וְהֶעֱבִירוּ תַעַר עַל־כָּל־בְּשָׂרָם וְכִבְּסוּ בִגְדֵיהֶם וְהִטֶּהָרוּ׃ 8 Have them take a young bull with its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil; then you are to take a second young bull for a sin offering. 8 וְלָקְחוּ פַּר בֶּן־בָּקָר וּמִנְחָתֹו סֹלֶת בְּלוּלָה בַשָּׁמֶן וּפַר־שֵׁנִי בֶן־בָּקָר תִּקַּח לְחַטָּאת׃ 9 Bring the Levites to the front of the Tent of Meeting and assemble the whole Israelite community. 9 וְהִקְרַבְתָּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם לִפְנֵי אֹהֶל מֹועֵד וְהִקְהַלְתָּ אֶת־כָּל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ 10 You are to bring the Levites before the LORD, and the Israelites are to lay their hands on them. 10 וְהִקְרַבְתָּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְסָמְכוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־יְדֵיהֶם עַל־הַלְוִיִּם׃ 11 Aaron is to present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the Israelites, so that they may be ready to do the work of the LORD. 11 וְהֵנִיף אַהֲרֹן אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם תְּנוּפָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה מֵאֵת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְהָיוּ לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדַת יְהוָה׃ 12 'After the Levites lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, use the one for a sin offering to the LORD and the other for a burnt offering, to make atonement for the Levites. 12 וְהַלְוִיִּם יִסְמְכוּ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶם עַל רֹאשׁ הַפָּרִים וַעֲשֵׂה אֶת־הָאֶחָד חַטָּאת וְאֶת־הָאֶחָד עֹלָה לַיהוָה לְכַפֵּר עַל־הַלְוִיִּם׃ 13 Have the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons and then present them as a wave offering to the LORD. 13 וְהַעֲמַדְתָּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם לִפְנֵי אַהֲרֹן וְלִפְנֵי בָנָיו וְהֵנַפְתָּ אֹתָם תְּנוּפָה לַיהוָה׃ 14 In this way you are to set the Levites apart from the other Israelites, and the Levites will be mine. 14 וְהִבְדַּלְתָּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם מִתֹּוךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְהָיוּ לִי הַלְוִיִּם׃ 15 'After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a wave offering, they are to come to do their work at the Tent of Meeting. 15 וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן יָבֹאוּ הַלְוִיִּם לַעֲבֹד אֶת־אֹהֶל מֹועֵד וְטִהַרְתָּ אֹתָם וְהֵנַפְתָּ אֹתָם תְּנוּפָה׃ 16 They are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to me. I have taken them as my own in place of the firstborn, the first male offspring from every Israelite woman. 16 כִּי נְתֻנִים נְתֻנִים הֵמָּה לִי מִתֹּוךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל תַּחַת פִּטְרַת כָּל־רֶחֶם בְּכֹור כֹּל מִבְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לָקַחְתִּי אֹתָם לִי׃ 17 Every firstborn male in Israel, whether man or animal, is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set them apart for myself. 17 כִּי לִי כָל־בְּכֹור בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּאָדָם וּבַבְּהֵמָה בְּיֹום הַכֹּתִי כָל־בְּכֹור בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם הִקְדַּשְׁתִּי אֹתָם לִי׃ 18 And I have taken the Levites in place of all the firstborn sons in Israel. 18 וָאֶקַּח אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם תַּחַת כָּל־בְּכֹור בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ 19 Of all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons to do the work at the Tent of Meeting on behalf of the Israelites and to make atonement for them so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary.' 19 וָאֶתְּנָה אֶת־הַלְוִיִּם נְתֻנִים לְאַהֲרֹן וּלְבָנָיו מִתֹּוךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּאֹהֶל מֹועֵד וּלְכַפֵּר עַל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא יִהְיֶה בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל נֶגֶף בְּגֶשֶׁת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃ 20 Moses, Aaron and the whole Israelite community did with the Levites just as the LORD commanded Moses. 20 וַיַּעַשׂ מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן וְכָל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לַלְוִיִּם כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה לַלְוִיִּם כֵּן־עָשׂוּ לָהֶם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ 21 The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes. Then Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the LORD and made atonement for them to purify them. 21 וַיִּתְחַטְּאוּ הַלְוִיִּם וַיְכַבְּסוּ בִּגְדֵיהֶם וַיָּנֶף אַהֲרֹן אֹתָם תְּנוּפָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וַיְכַפֵּר עֲלֵיהֶם אַהֲרֹן לְטַהֲרָם׃ 22 After that, the Levites came to do their work at the Tent of Meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did with the Levites just as the LORD commanded Moses. 22 וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן בָּאוּ הַלְוִיִּם לַעֲבֹד אֶת־עֲבֹדָתָם בְּאֹהֶל מֹועֵד לִפְנֵי אַהֲרֹן וְלִפְנֵי בָנָיו כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה עַל־הַלְוִיִּם כֵּן עָשׂוּ לָהֶם׃ ס 23 The LORD said to Moses, 23 וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃ 24 'This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the Tent of Meeting, 24 זֹאת אֲשֶׁר לַלְוִיִּם מִבֶּן חָמֵשׁ וְעֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה יָבֹוא לִצְבֹא צָבָא בַּעֲבֹדַת אֹהֶל מֹועֵד׃ 25 but at the age of fifty, they must retire from their regular service and work no longer. 25 וּמִבֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה יָשׁוּב מִצְּבָא הָעֲבֹדָה וְלֹא יַעֲבֹד עֹוד׃ 26 They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the Tent of Meeting, but they themselves must not do the work. This, then, is how you are to assign the responsibilities of the Levites.' 26 וְשֵׁרֵת אֶת־אֶחָיו בְּאֹהֶל מֹועֵד לִשְׁמֹר מִשְׁמֶרֶת וַעֲבֹדָה לֹא יַעֲבֹד כָּכָה תַּעֲשֶׂה לַלְוִיִּם בְּמִשְׁמְרֹתָם׃ ף 1. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 2. "아론에게 말하여라. 너는 그에게, 등잔을 밝힐 때에는, 등잔 일곱 개가 등잔대 앞 맞은쪽을 비추게 차려 놓으라고 일러라." 3. 아론은 그대로 하여 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 대로, 등잔이 등잔대 앞 맞은쪽을 비추게 차려 놓았다. 4. 등잔대는 금을 두드려서 만들었다. 줄기뿐만 아니라 꽃잎 모양 받침도, 모두 망치로 두드려서 만들었다. 주님께서 모세에게 보여 주신 견본대로 등잔대를 만들었다. 5. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 6. "너는 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 레위 사람을 데려다가, 그들을 정결하게 하여라. 7. 그들을 정결하게 할 때에는 이렇게 하여라. 속죄의 물을 그들에게 뿌린 다음에, 온몸의 털을 삭도로 다 밀고, 옷을 빨아 입게 하면, 그들은 정결하게 된다. 8. 그들더러 수송아지 한 마리를 번제물로 가져 오게 하고, 곡식제물로는 기름에 반죽한 고운 밀가루를 가져 오게 하여라. 너는 다른 수송아지 한 마리를 가져다 속죄제물로 삼아라. 9. 그리고 너는 레위 사람을 회막 앞에 세우고, 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중을 모아라. 10. 네가 레위 사람을 주 앞에 세우면, 이스라엘 자손이 레위 사람에게 그들의 손을 얹을 것이다. 11. 그러면 아론이 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 레위 사람을 흔들어 바치는 제물로 주 앞에 바쳐야 한다. 이렇게 한 다음에야, 레위 사람이 주를 섬기는 일을 맡아 할 수 있다. 12. 너는, 레위 사람이 수송아지 머리 위에 손을 얹은 다음에, 한 마리는 속죄제물로, 한 마리는 번제물로 나 주에게 바쳐서, 레위 사람의 죄를 속하도록 하여라. 13. 너는 또 레위 사람을 아론과 그의 아들들 앞에 세우고, 나 주에게 흔들어 바치는 제물로 그들을 바쳐라. 14. 이렇게 하여, 너는 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 레위 사람을 따로 갈라 세워야 한다. 그러면 레위 사람은 나의 것이 된다. 15. 네가 이렇게 레위 사람을 정결하게 하고, 흔들어 바치는 제물로 그들을 바친 다음에야, 그들은 맡은 일을 하러 회막에 나아갈 수 있다. 16. 이스라엘 자손 가운데서, 레위 사람은 온전히 나에게 바쳐진 사람이다. 모태를 처음 열고 나온 모든 맏이 대신에, 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 그들을 나의 것으로 삼았다. 17. 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 모든 맏이는 나의 것이다. 사람뿐만 아니라 짐승도 마찬가지이다. 내가 이집트 땅에서 모든 맏이를 쳐서 죽이던 날, 내가 그들을 나의 몫으로 거룩하게 구별하였다. 18. 나는, 이스라엘 자손 가운데서, 모든 맏이 대신에, 레위 사람을 나의 것으로 삼았다. 19. 내게 바쳐진 그 레위 사람을, 이제 내가 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 구별하여, 이스라엘 자손을 대신하여 회막에서 맡은 일을 하게 하려고, 또 이스라엘 자손의 죄를 속하여 주어, 이스라엘 자손이 성소에 접근할 때에라도 재앙을 받지 않게 하려고, 아론과 그의 자손에게 레위 사람을 주었다." 20. 모세와 아론과 이스라엘 자손 온 회중은, 주님께서 모세를 시켜 레위 사람에게 해주라고 지시하신 대로, 레위 사람에게 다 해주었다. 이스라엘 자손이 그들에게 그대로 해주었다. 21. 레위 사람은 죄를 벗어 자신들을 정결하게 하고, 옷을 빨아 입었다. 아론은 그들을 주님 앞에 흔들어 바치는 제물로 바쳤고, 그들의 죄를 속하여 그들을 정결하게 하였다. 22. 그렇게 하고 나서, 비로소 레위 사람은, 아론과 그의 아들들이 보는 데에 나서서, 그들이 맡은 회막 일을 할 수 있었다. 주님께서 모세를 시켜, 레위 사람에게 해주라고 지시하신 그대로, 그들에게 다 해주었다. 23. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 24. "레위 사람에게는 다음과 같은 법이 적용된다. 스물다섯 살이 되는 남자는, 회막에 들어와서 맡은 일을 하기 시작한다. 25. 쉰 살부터는 회막 일을 하지 않는다. 26. 다만 그들은, 동료들이 회막에서 맡은 직무를 수행할 때에 그들을 도울 수는 있어도, 그들이 직접 그 일을 맡아서 하지는 못한다. 너는, 레위 사람이 이와 같이 직무를 수행하게 하여라."
