|
1These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, |
1וְזֹאת הַמִּצְוָה הַחֻקִּים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לְלַמֵּד אֶתְכֶם לַעֲשֹׂות בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם עֹבְרִים שָׁמָּה לְרִשְׁתָּהּ׃ |
|
2so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. |
2לְמַעַן תִּירָא אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לִשְׁמֹר אֶת־כָּל־חֻקֹּתָיו וּמִצְוֹתָיו אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּךָ אַתָּה וּבִנְךָ וּבֶן־בִּנְךָ כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ וּלְמַעַן יַאֲרִכֻן יָמֶיךָ׃ |

3Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you. |
3וְשָׁמַעְתָּ יִשְׂרָאֵל וְשָׁמַרְתָּ לַעֲשֹׂות אֲשֶׁר יִיטַב לְךָ וַאֲשֶׁר תִּרְבּוּן מְאֹד כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹתֶיךָ לָךְ אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ׃ ף |

4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. |
4שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יְהוָה אֶחָד׃ |
|
5Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. |
5וְאָהַבְתָּ אֵת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּכָל־לְבָבְךָ וּבְכָל־נַפְשְׁךָ וּבְכָל־מְאֹדֶךָ׃ |

6These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. |
6וְהָיוּ הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיֹּום עַל־לְבָבֶךָ׃ |
|
7Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. |
7וְשִׁנַּנְתָּם לְבָנֶיךָ וְדִבַּרְתָּ בָּם בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ בְּבֵיתֶךָ וּבְלֶכְתְּךָ בַדֶּרֶךְ וּבְשָׁכְבְּךָ וּבְקוּמֶךָ׃ |

8Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. |
8וּקְשַׁרְתָּם לְאֹות עַל־יָדֶךָ וְהָיוּ לְטֹטָפֹת בֵּין עֵינֶיךָ׃ |
|
9Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. |
9וּכְתַבְתָּם עַל־מְזוּזֹת בֵּיתֶךָ וּבִשְׁעָרֶיךָ׃ ס |
|
10When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you-a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, |
10וְהָיָה כִּי יְבִיאֲךָ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לַאֲבֹתֶיךָ לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב לָתֶת לָךְ עָרִים גְּדֹלֹת וְטֹבֹת אֲשֶׁר לֹא־בָנִיתָ׃ |

11houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant-then when you eat and are satisfied, |
11וּבָתִּים מְלֵאִים כָּל־טוּב אֲשֶׁר לֹא־מִלֵּאתָ וּבֹרֹת חֲצוּבִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־חָצַבְתָּ כְּרָמִים וְזֵיתִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־נָטָעְתָּ וְאָכַלְתָּ וְשָׂבָעְתָּ׃ |
|
12be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. |
12הִשָּׁמֶר לְךָ פֶּן־תִּשְׁכַּח אֶת־יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר הֹוצִיאֲךָ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבֵּית עֲבָדִים׃ |

13Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. |
13אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ תִּירָא וְאֹתֹו תַעֲבֹד וּבִשְׁמֹו תִּשָּׁבֵעַ׃ |
|
14Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; |
14לֹא תֵלְכוּן אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים מֵאֱלֹהֵי הָעַמִּים אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבֹותֵיכֶם׃ |
|
15for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land. |
15כִּי אֵל קַנָּא יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּקִרְבֶּךָ פֶּן־יֶחֱרֶה אַף־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בָּךְ וְהִשְׁמִידְךָ מֵעַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה׃ ס |
|
16Do not test the LORD your God as you did at Massah. |
16לֹא תְנַסּוּ אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר נִסִּיתֶם בַּמַּסָּה׃ |
|
17Be sure to keep the commands of the LORD your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. |
17שָׁמֹור תִּשְׁמְרוּן אֶת־מִצְוֹת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְעֵדֹתָיו וְחֻקָּיו אֲשֶׁר צִוָּךְ׃ |
|
18Do what is right and good in the LORD's sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers, |
18וְעָשִׂיתָ הַיָּשָׁר וְהַטֹּוב בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה לְמַעַן יִיטַב לָךְ וּבָאתָ וְיָרַשְׁתָּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ הַטֹּבָה אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה לַאֲבֹתֶיךָ׃ |
|
19thrusting out all your enemies before you, as the LORD said. |
19לַהֲדֹף אֶת־כָּל־אֹיְבֶיךָ מִפָּנֶיךָ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה׃ ס |
|
20In the future, when your son asks you, 'What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the LORD our God has commanded you?' |
20כִּי־יִשְׁאָלְךָ בִנְךָ מָחָר לֵאמֹר מָה הָעֵדֹת וְהַחֻקִּים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֶתְכֶם׃ |
|
21tell him: 'We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. |
21וְאָמַרְתָּ לְבִנְךָ עֲבָדִים הָיִינוּ לְפַרְעֹה בְּמִצְרָיִם וַיֹּוצִיאֵנוּ יְהוָה מִמִּצְרַיִם בְּיָד חֲזָקָה׃ |
|
22Before our eyes the LORD sent miraculous signs and wonders-great and terrible-upon Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household. |
22וַיִּתֵּן יְהוָה אֹותֹת וּמֹפְתִים גְּדֹלִים וְרָעִים בְּמִצְרַיִם בְּפַרְעֹה וּבְכָל־בֵּיתֹו לְעֵינֵינוּ׃ |
|
23But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land that he promised on oath to our forefathers. |
23וְאֹותָנוּ הֹוצִיא מִשָּׁם לְמַעַן הָבִיא אֹתָנוּ לָתֶת לָנוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לַאֲבֹתֵינוּ׃ |
|
24The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today. |
24וַיְצַוֵּנוּ יְהוָה לַעֲשֹׂות אֶת־כָּל־הַחֻקִּים הָאֵלֶּה לְיִרְאָה אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ לְטֹוב לָנוּ כָּל־הַיָּמִים לְחַיֹּתֵנוּ כְּהַיֹּום הַזֶּה׃ |
|
25And if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.' |
25וּצְדָקָה תִּהְיֶה־לָּנוּ כִּי־נִשְׁמֹר לַעֲשֹׂות אֶת־כָּל־הַמִּצְוָה הַזֹּאת לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּנוּ׃ ס |
1"이것은 여러분의 하나님 여호와의 명령과 규례와 율법이오. 여호와께서는 이것을 나더러 여러분에게 가르치라고 말씀하셨소. 여러분은 요단 강을 건너 차지할 땅에서 이것을 잘 지키시오.
2이것은 여러분과 여러분의 자녀와 자손들이 하나님 여호와를 평생토록 섬기도록 하기 위함이오. 또한 내가 여러분에게 주는 여호와의 모든 규례와 명령을 잘 지켜 오래오래 살 수 있도록 하기 위함이오.
3이스라엘 백성들이여, 이 율법을 잘 듣고 부지런히 지키시오. 그러면 모든 일이 잘 될 것이오. 여러분은 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 비옥한 땅, 곧 여러분 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 약속하신 땅에서 큰 나라가 될 것이오.
4이스라엘 백성들이여, 들으시오. 우리 하나님 여호와는 오직 한 분뿐이신 여호와시오.
5여러분의 하나님 여호와를 마음과 뜻과 힘을 다하여 사랑하시오.
6내가 오늘 여러분에게 주는 이 명령을 항상 마음속에 기억하시오.
7그리고 여러분 자녀에게도 가르쳐 주시오. 집에 앉아 있을 때나 길을 걸어갈 때, 자리에 누웠을 때나 자리에서 일어날 때, 언제든지 그것을 가르쳐 주시오.
8그것을 써서 손에 매고 이마에 붙여 항상 기억하고 생각해야 합니다.
9여러분의 집 문설주와 대문에도 써서 붙이시오.
10여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분의 조상 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 약속하신 땅으로 여러분을 인도하시고 그 땅을 여러분에게 주실 것이오. 그 땅에는 여러분이 세우지 않은 크고 훌륭한 성들이 있소.
11또 여러분이 채워 놓지 않은 훌륭한 물건들로 가득 찬 집들이 있고, 여러분이 파지 않은 우물들이 있으며, 여러분이 심지 않은 포도밭과 올리브 나무들이 있소. 여러분은 먹고 싶은 것을 마음껏 먹을 것이오.
12그 때에 이집트 땅에서 종살이했던 여러분을 인도해 내신 이가 여호와임을 잊지 않도록 조심하시오.
13여러분의 하나님 여호와를 존경하고 오직 여호와만을 섬기시오. 맹세할 때에는 여호와의 이름으로만 맹세하시오.
14여러분 주변에 사는 다른 백성들처럼 다른 신을 섬기지 마시오.
15여러분 가운데 계신 여러분의 여호와 하나님은 질투하시는 하나님이시오. 여러분이 다른 신들을 섬기면, 여호와께서는 노하시고 여러분을 이 땅에서 없애 버리실 것이오.
16여러분은 맛사에서처럼 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 시험하지 마시오.
17여러분의 하나님 여호와의 명령을 잘 지키시오. 여호와께서 여러분에게 주신 규례와 율법에 복종하시오.
18여호와께서 보시기에 올바르고 좋은 일을 하시오. 그러면 여러분의 모든 일이 잘 될 것이며, 여호와께서 여러분 조상에게 약속하신 땅에 들어가 그 좋은 땅을 차지할 수 있을 것이오.
19여호와께서 약속하신 대로 여러분의 원수들을 다 쫓아 내 주실 것이오.
20장차 여러분의 아들이 '우리 하나님 여호와께서 주신 율법과 명령과 규례의 뜻이 무엇이냐?' 하고 물을 때는
21이렇게 대답해 주시오. '우리는 이집트에서 파라오의 노예였는데 여호와께서 크신 능력으로 우리를 이집트에서 인도해 내셨다.
22여호와께서는 우리에게 크고도 놀라운 표적과 기적을 보여 주셨다. 여호와께서는 그 놀라운 표적과 기적으로 이집트와 파라오와 그의 모든 집안을 치셨다.
23여호와께서 우리를 이집트에서 인도해 내시고, 이 곳으로 데려오셨다. 그렇게 하신 것은 우리 조상에게 약속하셨던 땅을 우리에게 주시기 위함이었다.
24여호와께서는 이 모든 규례를 지키라고 명령하셨다. 이것은 우리가 하나님 여호와를 섬김으로 영원히 잘 되고 지금처럼 살아 남을 수 있게 하시기 위함이었다.
25우리가 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 여호와께서 명령하신 이 모든 규례를 지키는 것이 우리에게 의로움이 될 것이다.'"
