1Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always. |
1וְאָהַבְתָּ אֵת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ וְשָׁמַרְתָּ מִשְׁמַרְתֹּו וְחֻקֹּתָיו וּמִשְׁפָּטָיו וּמִצְוֹתָיו כָּל־הַיָּמִים׃ |
|
2Remember today that your children were not the ones who saw and experienced the discipline of the LORD your God: his majesty, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm; |
2וִידַעְתֶּם הַיֹּום כִּי לֹא אֶת־בְּנֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדְעוּ וַאֲשֶׁר לֹא־רָאוּ אֶת־מוּסַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם אֶת־גָּדְלֹו אֶת־יָדֹו הַחֲזָקָה וּזְרֹעֹו הַנְּטוּיָה׃ |
|
3the signs he performed and the things he did in the heart of Egypt, both to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his whole country; |
3וְאֶת־אֹתֹתָיו וְאֶת־מַעֲשָׂיו אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה בְּתֹוךְ מִצְרָיִם לְפַרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם וּלְכָל־אַרְצֹו׃ |
|
4what he did to the Egyptian army, to its horses and chariots, how he overwhelmed them with the waters of the Red Sea as they were pursuing you, and how the LORD brought lasting ruin on them. |
4וַאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְחֵיל מִצְרַיִם לְסוּסָיו וּלְרִכְבֹּו אֲשֶׁר הֵצִיף אֶת־מֵי יַם־סוּף עַל־פְּנֵיהֶם בְּרָדְפָם אַחֲרֵיכֶם וַיְאַבְּדֵם יְהוָה עַד הַיֹּום הַזֶּה׃ |
|
5It was not your children who saw what he did for you in the desert until you arrived at this place, |
5וַאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לָכֶם בַּמִּדְבָּר עַד־בֹּאֲכֶם עַד־הַמָּקֹום הַזֶּה׃ |
|
6and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when the earth opened its mouth right in the middle of all Israel and swallowed them up with their households, their tents and every living thing that belonged to them. |
6וַאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְדָתָן וְלַאֲבִירָם בְּנֵי אֱלִיאָב בֶּן־רְאוּבֵן אֲשֶׁר פָּצְתָה הָאָרֶץ אֶת־פִּיהָ וַתִּבְלָעֵם וְאֶת־בָּתֵּיהֶם וְאֶת־אָהֳלֵיהֶם וְאֵת כָּל־הַיְקוּם אֲשֶׁר בְּרַגְלֵיהֶם בְּקֶרֶב כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ |
|
7But it was your own eyes that saw all these great things the LORD has done. |
7כִּי עֵינֵיכֶם הָרֹאֹת אֶת־כָּל־מַעֲשֵׂה יְהוָה הַגָּדֹל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה׃ |
|
8Observe therefore all the commands I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and take over the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, |
8וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם אֶת־כָּל־הַמִּצְוָה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיֹּום לְמַעַן תֶּחֶזְקוּ וּבָאתֶם וִירִשְׁתֶּם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם עֹבְרִים שָׁמָּה לְרִשְׁתָּהּ׃ |
|
9and so that you may live long in the land that the LORD swore to your forefathers to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey. |
9וּלְמַעַן תַּאֲרִיכוּ יָמִים עַל־הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה לַאֲבֹתֵיכֶם לָתֵת לָהֶם וּלְזַרְעָם אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ׃ ס |
|
10The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. |
10כִּי הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה בָא־שָׁמָּה לְרִשְׁתָּהּ לֹא כְאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם הִוא אֲשֶׁר יְצָאתֶם מִשָּׁם אֲשֶׁר תִּזְרַע אֶת־זַרְעֲךָ וְהִשְׁקִיתָ בְרַגְלְךָ כְּגַן הַיָּרָק׃ |
|
11But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. |
11וְהָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם עֹבְרִים שָׁמָּה לְרִשְׁתָּהּ אֶרֶץ הָרִים וּבְקָעֹת לִמְטַר הַשָּׁמַיִם תִּשְׁתֶּה־מָּיִם׃ |
|
12It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end. |
12אֶרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ דֹּרֵשׁ אֹתָהּ תָּמִיד עֵינֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בָּהּ מֵרֵשִׁית הַשָּׁנָה וְעַד אַחֲרִית שָׁנָה׃ ס |
|
13So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today-to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul- |
13וְהָיָה אִם־שָׁמֹעַ תִּשְׁמְעוּ אֶל־מִצְוֹתַי אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם הַיֹּום לְאַהֲבָה אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וּלְעָבְדֹו בְּכָל־לְבַבְכֶם וּבְכָל־נַפְשְׁכֶם׃ |
|
14then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. |
14וְנָתַתִּי מְטַר־אַרְצְכֶם בְּעִתֹּו יֹורֶה וּמַלְקֹושׁ וְאָסַפְתָּ דְגָנֶךָ וְתִירֹשְׁךָ וְיִצְהָרֶךָ׃ |
|
15I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied. |
15וְנָתַתִּי עֵשֶׂב בְּשָׂדְךָ לִבְהֶמְתֶּךָ וְאָכַלְתָּ וְשָׂבָעְתָּ׃ |
|
16Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them. |
16הִשָּׁמְרוּ לָכֶם פֶּן יִפְתֶּה לְבַבְכֶם וְסַרְתֶּם וַעֲבַדְתֶּם אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶם לָהֶם׃ |
|
17Then the LORD's anger will burn against you, and he will shut the heavens so that it will not rain and the ground will yield no produce, and you will soon perish from the good land the LORD is giving you. |
17וְחָרָה אַף־יְהוָה בָּכֶם וְעָצַר אֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה מָטָר וְהָאֲדָמָה לֹא תִתֵּן אֶת־יְבוּלָהּ וַאֲבַדְתֶּם מְהֵרָה מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ הַטֹּבָה אֲשֶׁר יְהוָה נֹתֵן לָכֶם׃ |
|
18Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. |
18וְשַׂמְתֶּם אֶת־דְּבָרַי אֵלֶּה עַל־לְבַבְכֶם וְעַל־נַפְשְׁכֶם וּקְשַׁרְתֶּם אֹתָם לְאֹות עַל־יֶדְכֶם וְהָיוּ לְטֹוטָפֹת בֵּין עֵינֵיכֶם׃ |
|
19Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. |
19וְלִמַּדְתֶּם אֹתָם אֶת־בְּנֵיכֶם לְדַבֵּר בָּם בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ בְּבֵיתֶךָ וּבְלֶכְתְּךָ בַדֶּרֶךְ וּבְשָׁכְבְּךָ וּבְקוּמֶךָ׃ |
|
20Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, |
20וּכְתַבְתָּם עַל־מְזוּזֹות בֵּיתֶךָ וּבִשְׁעָרֶיךָ׃ |
|
21so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the LORD swore to give your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth. |
21לְמַעַן יִרְבּוּ יְמֵיכֶם וִימֵי בְנֵיכֶם עַל הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה לַאֲבֹתֵיכֶם לָתֵת לָהֶם כִּימֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃ ס |
|
22If you carefully observe all these commands I am giving you to follow-to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways and to hold fast to him- |
22כִּי אִם־שָׁמֹר תִּשְׁמְרוּן אֶת־כָּל־הַמִּצְוָה הַזֹּאת אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם לַעֲשֹׂתָהּ לְאַהֲבָה אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לָלֶכֶת בְּכָל־דְּרָכָיו וּלְדָבְקָה־בֹו׃ |
|
23then the LORD will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations larger and stronger than you. |
23וְהֹורִישׁ יְהוָה אֶת־כָּל־הַגֹּויִם הָאֵלֶּה מִלִּפְנֵיכֶם וִירִשְׁתֶּם גֹּויִם גְּדֹלִים וַעֲצֻמִים םִכֶּם׃ |
|
24Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the western sea. |
24כָּל־הַמָּקֹום אֲשֶׁר תִּדְרֹךְ כַּף־רַגְלְכֶם בֹּו לָכֶם יִהְיֶה מִן־הַמִּדְבָּר וְהַלְּבָנֹון מִן־הַנָּהָר נְהַר־פְּרָת וְעַד הַיָּם הָאַחֲרֹון יִהְיֶה גְּבֻלְכֶם׃ |
|
25No man will be able to stand against you. The LORD your God, as he promised you, will put the terror and fear of you on the whole land, wherever you go. |
25לֹא־יִתְיַצֵּב אִישׁ בִּפְנֵיכֶם פַּחְדְּכֶם וּמֹורַאֲכֶם יִתֵּן יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם עַל־פְּנֵי כָל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר תִּדְרְכוּ־בָהּ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר לָכֶם׃ ס |
|
26See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse- |
26רְאֵה אָנֹכִי נֹתֵן לִפְנֵיכֶם הַיֹּום בְּרָכָה וּקְלָלָה׃ |
|
27the blessing if you obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today; |
27אֶת־הַבְּרָכָה אֲשֶׁר תִּשְׁמְעוּ אֶל־מִצְוֹת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם הַיֹּום׃ |
|
28the curse if you disobey the commands of the LORD your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known. |
28וְהַקְּלָלָה אִם־לֹא תִשְׁמְעוּ אֶל־מִצְוֹת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְסַרְתֶּם מִן־הַדֶּרֶךְ אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם הַיֹּום לָלֶכֶת אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יְדַעְתֶּם׃ ס |
|
29When the LORD your God has brought you into the land you are entering to possess, you are to proclaim on Mount Gerizim the blessings, and on Mount Ebal the curses. |
29וְהָיָה כִּי יְבִיאֲךָ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּה בָא־שָׁמָּה לְרִשְׁתָּהּ וְנָתַתָּה אֶת־הַבְּרָכָה עַל־הַר גְּרִזִים וְאֶת־הַקְּלָלָה עַל־הַר עֵיבָל׃ |
|
30As you know, these mountains are across the Jordan, west of the road, toward the setting sun, near the great trees of Moreh, in the territory of those Canaanites living in the Arabah in the vicinity of Gilgal. |
30הֲלֹא־הֵמָּה בְּעֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן אַחֲרֵי דֶּרֶךְ מְבֹוא הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ בְּאֶרֶץ הַכְּנַעֲנִי הַיֹּשֵׁב בָּעֲרָבָה מוּל הַגִּלְגָּל אֵצֶל אֵלֹונֵי מֹרֶה׃ |
|
31You are about to cross the Jordan to enter and take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you. When you have taken it over and are living there, |
31כִּי אַתֶּם עֹבְרִים אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן לָבֹא לָרֶשֶׁת אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם נֹתֵן לָכֶם וִירִשְׁתֶּם אֹתָהּ וִישַׁבְתֶּם־בָּהּ׃ |
|
32be sure that you obey all the decrees and laws I am setting before you today. |
32וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם לַעֲשֹׂות אֵת כָּל־הַחֻקִּים וְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי נֹתֵן לִפְנֵיכֶם הַיֹּום׃ |
1"여러분은 하나님 여호와를 사랑하고, 여호와의 규율과 규례와 율법과 명령을 항상 지키시오.
2여호와의 징계와 위대하심과 크신 능력을 보고 경험했던 사람은 여러분의 자손이 아니라 바로 여러분 자신임을 기억하시오.
3여러분의 자손은 여호와의 표적과 이집트 왕 파라오와 이집트 땅에서 하신 일들을 보지 못했소.
4여러분의 자손은 여호와께서 이집트 군대와 그 말과 전차들에게 하신 일도 보지 못했소. 여호와께서는 여러분의 뒤를 쫓아오는 그들을 홍해에 빠뜨리시고 영원히 멸망시키셨소.
5여러분의 자손은 여러분이 이 곳에 이르기까지 여호와께서 여러분에게 광야에서 해 주신 일을 보지 못했소.
6그리고 르우벤의 손자요, 엘리압의 아들인 다단과 아비람에게 하신 일도 보지 못했소. 그 때에 땅이 갈라져 그들과 그 가족과 장막을 삼켜 버렸고, 온 이스라엘 가운데서 그들과 함께 있었던 사람과 짐승들도 다 삼켜 버렸소.
7여러분 자신들은 여호와께서 하신 이 모든 일을 보았소.
8그러므로 내가 오늘 여러분에게 주는 여호와의 모든 명령을 지키시오. 그러면 여러분은 강해져서 여러분이 건너가 들어가려는 땅을 차지할 수 있을 것이오.
9여호와께서 여러분의 조상과 자손에게 주시기로 약속하신 그 땅에서 오래오래 살게 될 것이오. 그 땅은 젖과 꿀이 넘쳐 흐를 만큼 비옥한 땅이오.
10여러분이 차지할 땅은 여러분이 살았던 이집트와 같지 않소. 이집트에서는 채소밭에 씨를 심고 물을 주느라 발을 많이 움직였소.
11그러나 여러분이 건너가 차지할 땅은 언덕과 골짜기의 땅이오. 그 땅은 하늘에서 내리는 빗물로 물을 대며
12여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 돌보시는 땅이오. 또한 한 해가 시작할 때부터 끝날 때까지 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 언제나 보살펴 주시는 땅이오.
13내가 오늘 여러분에게 주는 명령을 잘 지키시오. 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 사랑하고 마음과 정성을 다하여 여호와를 섬기시오.
14그러면 여호와께서 때를 따라 가을과 봄에 여러분의 땅에 비를 내려 주실 것이오. 여러분은 곡식과 새 포도주와 기름을 거둘 수 있을 것이오.
15들에는 여러분의 가축들이 먹을 풀을 자라게 해 주실 것이며, 여러분도 배불리 먹을 수 있을 것이오.
16여러분은 조심하시오. 꾐에 빠져 다른 신들을 섬기지 마시오. 다른 신들에게 예배하지 마시오.
17그렇게 했다가는 여호와께서 여러분에게 노하셔서 하늘을 닫으시고 비를 내리지 않으실 것이오. 그러면 땅에서는 식물이 자라지 않고, 여러분은 여호와께서 주신 저 좋은 땅에서 죽게 될 것이오.
18내 말을 마음과 영혼에 새겨 두시오. 그것을 써서 손에 매고 이마에 붙여 항상 기억하고 생각하시오.
19그리고 여러분의 자녀에게도 가르쳐 주시오. 집에 앉아 있을 때나 길을 걸어갈 때나 자리에 누웠을 때나 자리에서 일어날 때, 언제나 그것을 가르쳐 주시오.
20여러분의 집 문설주와 대문에도 써서 붙이시오.
21그러면 여호와께서 여러분 조상에게 주시기로 약속하신 그 땅에서 여러분과 여러분의 자손 모두가 오래오래 살 수 있을 것이오. 땅 위에 하늘이 있는 한, 그 땅에서 오래오래 살 수 있을 것이오.
22내가 여러분에게 주는 이 모든 명령을 부지런히 지키고 여러분의 하나님 여호와를 사랑하며 그의 모든 길을 행하여 그에게 충성하시오.
23그러면 여호와께서 저 모든 나라들을 여러분 앞에서 쫓아 내실 것이오. 여러분은 여러분보다 크고 강한 나라들에게서 땅을 빼앗을 수 있을 것이오.
24여러분이 발로 밟는 곳마다 여러분의 땅이 될 것이오. 광야에서부터 레바논까지, 유프라테스 강에서부터 지중해까지 모두 여러분의 땅이 될 것이오.
25여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 약속하신 대로 여러분이 가는 곳마다 그 땅의 백성이 여러분을 두려워하게 만드실 것이오. 아무도 여러분을 막을 수 없을 것이오.
26보시오. 내가 오늘 여러분에게 복과 저주 가운데 하나를 고르게 하겠소.
27내가 오늘 여러분에게 주는 하나님 여호와의 명령을 잘 지키면 복을 받을 것이나
28하나님 여호와의 명령을 지키지 않으면 저주를 받을 것이오. 그러므로 내가 오늘 여러분에게 주는 명령을 어기지 마시오. 여러분이 알지 못하는 다른 신들을 섬기지 마시오.
29여러분의 하나님 여호와께서는 여러분이 차지할 땅으로 여러분을 인도하실 것이오. 그러면 여러분은 그리심 산에서 축복을 선포하고, 에발 산에서는 저주를 선포하시오.
30그 산들은 요단 강 건너편, 곧 서쪽 해지는 편에 있소. 그 산들은 모레의 상수리나무들이 있는 곳에서 가까우며 길갈 건너편, 요단 골짜기에 사는 가나안 사람들의 땅에 있소.
31여러분은 곧 요단 강을 건너 여러분의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분에게 주시는 땅으로 들어가 그 땅을 차지할 것이오. 여러분은 그 땅을 차지하고 거기에서 살게 될 것이오.
32여러분은 내가 오늘 여러분에게 주는 모든 명령을 잘 지키시오."
