유다 왕 웃시야

1.  유다 온 백성이 나이가 십육 세 된 웃시야를 세워 그의 아버지 아마샤를 대신하여 왕으로 삼으니
2.  아마샤 왕이 그의 열조들의 묘실에 누운 후에 웃시야가 엘롯을 건축하여 유다에 돌렸더라
3.  웃시야가 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 십육 세라 예루살렘에서 오십이 년 간 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 여골리아요 예루살렘 사람이더라
4.  웃시야가 그의 아버지 아마샤의 모든 행위대로 여호와 보시기에 정직하게 행하며
5.  하나님의 묵시를 밝히 아는 스가랴가 사는 날에 하나님을 찾았고 그가 여호와를 찾을 동안에는 하나님이 형통하게 하셨더라
6.  ○웃시야가 나가서 블레셋 사람들과 싸우고 가드 성벽과 야브네 성벽과 아스돗 성벽을 헐고 아스돗 땅과 블레셋 사람들 가운데에 성읍들을 건축하매
7.  하나님이 그를 도우사 블레셋 사람들과 구르바알에 거주하는 아라비아 사람들과 마온 사람들을 치게 하신지라
8.  암몬 사람들이 웃시야에게 조공을 바치매 웃시야가 매우 강성하여 이름이 애굽 변방까지 퍼졌더라
9.  웃시야가 예루살렘에서 성 모퉁이 문과 골짜기 문과 성굽이에 망대를 세워 견고하게 하고
10.  또 광야에 망대를 세우고 물 웅덩이를 많이 파고 고원과 평지에 가축을 많이 길렀으며 또 여러 산과 좋은 밭에 농부와 포도원을 다스리는 자들을 두었으니 농사를 좋아함이었더라
11.  웃시야에게 또 싸우는 군사가 있으니 서기관 여이엘과 병영장 마아세야가 직접 조사한 수효대로 왕의 지휘관 하나냐의 휘하에 속하여 떼를 지어 나가서 싸우는 자라
12.  족장의 총수가 이천육백 명이니 모두 큰 용사요
13.  그의 휘하의 군대가 삼십만 칠천오백 명이라 건장하고 싸움에 능하여 왕을 도와 적을 치는 자이며
14.  웃시야가 그의 온 군대를 위하여 방패와 창과 투구와 갑옷과 활과 물매 돌을 준비하고
15.  또 예루살렘에서 재주 있는 사람들에게 무기를 고안하게 하여 망대와 성곽 위에 두어 화살과 큰 돌을 쏘고 던지게 하였으니 그의 이름이 멀리 퍼짐은 기이한 도우심을 얻어 강성하여짐이었더라

웃시야에게 나병이 생기다

16.  ○그가 강성하여지매 그의 마음이 교만하여 악을 행하여 그의 하나님 여호와께 범죄하되 곧 여호와의 성전에 들어가서 향단에 분향하려 한지라
17.  제사장 아사랴가 여호와의 용맹한 제사장 팔십 명을 데리고 그의 뒤를 따라 들어가서
18.  웃시야 왕 곁에 서서 그에게 이르되 웃시야여 여호와께 분향하는 일은 왕이 할 바가 아니요 오직 분향하기 위하여 구별함을 받은 아론의 자손 제사장들이 할 바니 성소에서 나가소서 왕이 범죄하였으니 하나님 여호와에게서 영광을 얻지 못하리이다
19.  웃시야가 손으로 향로를 잡고 분향하려 하다가 화를 내니 그가 제사장에게 화를 낼 때에 여호와의 전 안 향단 곁 제사장들 앞에서 그의 이마에 나병이 생긴지라
20.  대제사장 아사랴와 모든 제사장이 왕의 이마에 나병이 생겼음을 보고 성전에서 급히 쫓아내고 여호와께서 치시므로 왕도 속히 나가니라
21.  웃시야 왕이 죽는 날까지 나병환자가 되었고 나병환자가 되매 여호와의 전에서 끊어져 별궁에 살았으므로 그의 아들 요담이 왕궁을 관리하며 백성을 다스렸더라
22.  웃시야의 남은 시종 행적은 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야가 기록하였더라
23.  웃시야가 그의 조상들과 함께 누우매 그는 나병환자라 하여 왕들의 묘실에 접한 땅 곧 그의 조상들의 곁에 장사하니라 그의 아들 요담이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

[NIV]제26장

1.  Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in place of his father Amaziah.
2.  He was the one who rebuilt Elath and restored it to Judah after Amaziah rested with his fathers.
3.  Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years. His mother's name was Jecoliah; she was from Jerusalem.
4.  He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Amaziah had done.
5.  He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the LORD, God gave him success.
6.  He went to war against the Philistines and broke down the walls of Gath, Jabneh and Ashdod. He then rebuilt towns near Ashdod and elsewhere among the Philistines.
7.  God helped him against the Philistines and against the Arabs who lived in Gur Baal and against the Meunites.
8.  The Ammonites brought tribute to Uzziah, and his fame spread as far as the border of Egypt, because he had become very powerful.
9.  Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, at the Valley Gate and at the angle of the wall, and he fortified them.
10.  He also built towers in the desert and dug many cisterns, because he had much livestock in the foothills and in the plain. He had people working his fields and vineyards in the hills and in the fertile lands, for he loved the soil.
11.  Uzziah had a well-trained army, ready to go out by divisions according to their numbers as mustered by Jeiel the secretary and Maaseiah the officer under the direction of Hananiah, one of the royal officials.
12.  The total number of family leaders over the fighting men was 2,600.
13.  Under their command was an army of 307,500 men trained for war, a powerful force to support the king against his enemies.
14.  Uzziah provided shields, spears, helmets, coats of armor, bows and slingstones for the entire army.
15.  In Jerusalem he made machines designed by skillful men for use on the towers and on the corner defenses to shoot arrows and hurl large stones. His fame spread far and wide, for he was greatly helped until he became powerful.
16.  But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the LORD his God, and entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.
17.  Azariah the priest with eighty other courageous priests of the LORD followed him in.
18.  They confronted him and said, "It is not right for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD. That is for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who have been consecrated to burn incense. Leave the sanctuary, for you have been unfaithful; and you will not be honored by the LORD God."
19.  Uzziah, who had a censer in his hand ready to burn incense, became angry. While he was raging at the priests in their presence before the incense altar in the LORD's temple, leprosy broke out on his forehead.
20.  When Azariah the chief priest and all the other priests looked at him, they saw that he had leprosy on his forehead, so they hurried him out. Indeed, he himself was eager to leave, because the LORD had afflicted him.
21.  King Uzziah had leprosy until the day he died. He lived in a separate house -- leprous, and excluded from the temple of the LORD. Jotham his son had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land.
22.  The other events of Uzziah's reign, from beginning to end, are recorded by the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.
23.  Uzziah rested with his fathers and was buried near them in a field for burial that belonged to the kings, for people said, "He had leprosy." And Jotham his son succeeded him as king.

[히브리어]제26장

1.  ויקחו כל עם יהודה את עזיהו והוא בן שש עשרה שנה וימליכו אתו תחת אביו אמציהו׃
2.  הוא בנה את אילות וישיבה ליהודה אחרי שכב המלך עם אבתיו׃
3.  בן שש עשרה שנה עזיהו במלכו וחמשים ושתים שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו יכיליה מן ירושלם׃
4.  ויעש הישר בעיני יהוה ככל אשר עשה אמציהו אביו׃
5.  ויהי לדרש אלהים בימי זכריהו המבין בראת האלהים ובימי דרשו את יהוה הצליחו האלהים׃
6.  ויצא וילחם בפלשתים ויפרץ את חומת גת ואת חומת יבנה ואת חומת אשדוד ויבנה ערים באשדוד ובפלשתים׃
7.  ויעזרהו האלהים על פלשתים ועל הערביים הישבים בגור בעל והמעונים׃
8.  ויתנו העמונים מנחה לעזיהו וילך שמו עד לבוא מצרים כי החזיק עד למעלה׃
9.  ויבן עזיהו מגדלים בירושלם על שער הפנה ועל שער הגיא ועל המקצוע ויחזקם׃
10.  ויבן מגדלים במדבר ויחצב ברות רבים כי מקנה רב היה לו ובשפלה ובמישור אכרים וכרמים בהרים ובכרמל כי אהב אדמה היה׃
11.  ויהי לעזיהו חיל עשה מלחמה יוצאי צבא לגדוד במספר פקדתם ביד יעואל הסופר ומעשיהו השוטר על יד חנניהו משרי המלך׃
12.  כל מספר ראשי האבות לגבורי חיל אלפים ושש מאות׃
13.  ועל ידם חיל צבא שלש מאות אלף ושבעת אלפים וחמש מאות עושי מלחמה בכח חיל לעזר למלך על האויב׃
14.  ויכן להם עזיהו לכל הצבא מגנים ורמחים וכובעים ושרינות וקשתות ולאבני קלעים׃
15.  ויעש בירושלם חשבנות מחשבת חושב להיות על המגדלים ועל הפנות לירוא בחצים ובאבנים גדלות ויצא שמו עד למרחוק כי הפליא להעזר עד כי חזק׃
16.  וכחזקתו גבה לבו עד להשחית וימעל ביהוה אלהיו ויבא אל היכל יהוה להקטיר על מזבח הקטרת׃
17.  ויבא אחריו עזריהו הכהן ועמו כהנים ליהוה שמונים בני חיל׃
18.  ויעמדו על עזיהו המלך ויאמרו לו לא לך עזיהו להקטיר ליהוה כי לכהנים בני אהרן המקדשים להקטיר צא מן המקדש כי מעלת ולא לך לכבוד מיהוה אלהים׃
19.  ויזעף עזיהו ובידו מקטרת להקטיר ובזעפו עם הכהנים והצרעת זרחה במצחו לפני הכהנים בבית יהוה מעל למזבח הקטרת׃
20.  ויפן אליו עזריהו כהן הראש וכל הכהנים והנה הוא מצרע במצחו ויבהלוהו משם וגם הוא נדחף לצאת כי נגעו יהוה׃
21.  ויהי עזיהו המלך מצרע עד יום מותו וישב בית החפשות מצרע כי נגזר מבית יהוה ויותם בנו על בית המלך שופט את עם הארץ׃
22.  ויתר דברי עזיהו הראשנים והאחרנים כתב ישעיהו בן אמוץ הנביא׃
23.  וישכב עזיהו עם אבתיו ויקברו אתו עם אבתיו בשדה הקבורה אשר למלכים כי אמרו מצורע הוא וימלך יותם בנו תחתיו׃
