7월 5일 호세아 2:14-15 그러므로 보라 내가 그를 타일러 거친 들로 데리고 가서 말로 위로하고 거기서 비로소 그의 포도원을 그에게 주고 아골 골짜기로 소망의 문을 삼아 주리니 그가 거기서 응대하기를 어렸을 때와 애굽 땅에서 올라오던 날과 같이 하리라
거친 들에서 포도원을 찾는다는 것은 확실히 좀 이상합니다! 우리에게 필요한 삶의 부요를 광야에서 찾을 수 있음이 사실입니까? 외롭고 길도 찾을 수 없는 거기서? 사실일 뿐 아니라, 15절에서는 이렇게까지 말씀하십니다. “아골 골짜기로 소망의 문을 삼아 주리니 그가 거기서 응대하기를 어렸을 때 와....... 같이 하리라.” “아골”은 '고통스럽다는 뜻인데, 그런 아골 골짜기를 지금 소망의 문”이라고 합니다.
그렇습니다. 하나님께서는 우리에게 광야 체험이 필요함을 아십니다. 그분 께서는 어디서 어떻게 우리 안의 인내의 능력을 끌어내야 하는지 정확히 알고 계십니다. 우상숭배와 반역으로 하나님을 잊고, 강퍅한 마음으로 '나는 나를 사랑하는 자들을 따르리니' (호 2:5) 하는 사람은 하나님으로 인해 길이 막힐 것입니다. “그가 그 사랑하는 자를 따라갈지라도 미치지 못하며 그들을 찾을지라도 만나지 못할 것이라" (호 2:7). 그래서 그녀가 완전히 절망하여 포기할 때 하나님께서 말씀하십니다. "내가 그를 타일러 거친 들로 데리고 가서 말로 위로하고." 얼마나 멋진 하나님이십니까! 우리는 하나님께서 그분의 시내를 어디에 숨기셨는지 알지 못합니다. 우리는 큰 반석을 보지만 그 아래 샘물이 있음은 알지 못합니다. 하나님께서는 나를 어렵고 힘든 곳으로 데려가시지만, 바로 거기서 내가 영원한 시냇가에 와있음을 깨닫습니다.

Vineyards in the Wilderness
I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness... And I will give her her vineyards from thence — Hos 2:14-15
A strange place to find vineyards — in the wilderness! And can it be that the riches which a soul needs can be obtained in the wilderness, which stands for a lonely place, out of which you can seldom find your way? It would seem so, and not only that, but the “Valley of Achor,” which means bitterness, is called a door of hope. And she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth!
Yes, God knows our need of the wilderness experience. He knows where and how to bring out that which is enduring. The soul has been idolatrous, rebellious; has forgotten God, and with a perfect self-will has said, “I will follow after my lovers.” But she did not overtake them. And, when she was hopeless and forsaken, God said, “I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.” What a loving God is ours! — Crumbs
We never know where God hides His pools. We see a rock, and we cannot guess it is the home of the spring. We see a flinty place, and we cannot tell it is the hiding place of a fountain.
