8월 14일 요한복음 19:11 예수께서 대답하시되 위에서 주지 아니하셨더라면 나를 해할 권한이 없었으리니 그러므로 나를 네게 넘겨 준 자의 죄는 더 크다 하시니라
하나님의 뜻이 아닌 것이, 그분을 믿고 순종하는 어떤 이의 삶에 들어오도록 허락되는 경우란 없습니다. 이 진리로 우리의 삶이 끊임없는 감사와 기쁨의 삶이 되고도 남을 텐데, 그것은 하나님의 뜻이 세상에서 가장 희망적이고 즐거우며 영광스럽기 때문입니다. 하나님의 뜻은, 우리가 계속해서 순종하고 믿기만 하면 어떠한 방해도 받지 않고 우리의 유익을 위해 당신의 전능하신 능력을 지속적으로 행하시는 것입니다.
고통의 심연을 지나던 어떤 사람이 친구에게 이렇게 썼습니다.
어떤 일이 아무리 부당해 보여도, 설령 그 일이 사탄에게서 온 듯 보일지라도 마침내 우리 앞에 떨어지기까지 그 일은 우리에게 두신 하나님의 뜻이며, 결국에는 우리의 유익이 되리라는 이 앎이 영광스럽지 않은가?
"우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는...... 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라” (롬 8:28). 그리스도께서 배반당하셨을 때조차 하신 말씀을 생각해 보십시오. “아버지께서 주신 잔을 내가 마시지 아니하겠느냐” (요 18:11). 하나님의 뜻 가운데 살고 있다면, 우리의 삶은 굉장하다 할 것입니다. 다른 이들의 죄를 통해서 사탄이 우리에게 퍼붓는 모든 공격은 우리를 해칠 능력이 없을 뿐 아니라, 오는 동안에 축복으로 바뀝니다.
하나님의 뜻, 그 둥그런 원
한가운데 내가 서 있다.
제2의 원인은 없으니, 모든 것은
창조주의 거룩한 손에서 나왔다.
모든 것이 좋다! 내 아버지께서
내 삶을 계획하셨으므로,
슬픔의 파도 건너야 하는가?
그렇다면 최선의 결과 있으리라.
이유는 모르지만 믿을 수 있고,
믿을 수 있는 나는 복된 사람.
하나님은 사랑이시며 신실하시니,
나 그분의 완전한 평화 누린다.
그늘이나 햇빛, 기쁨이나 고통,
다 주님께 맡깁니다!
당신의 엇나간 자녀 단련하심에
밝음과 어둠 모두 필요하고,
우리 깨닫기만 하면, 땅에서 잃음이
천국에서 얻음일 것입니다.

God's Will
Thou couldst have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above — John 19:11
Nothing that is not God’s will can come into the life of one who trusts and obeys God. This fact is enough to make our life one of ceaseless thanksgiving and joy. For “God’s will is the one hopeful, glad, and glorious thing in the world”; and it is working in the omnipotence for us all the time, with nothing to prevent it if we are surrendered and believing.
One who was passing through deep waters of affliction wrote to a friend: “Is it not a glorious thing to know that, no difference how unjust a thing may be, or how absolutely it may seem to be from Satan, by the time it reaches us it is God’s will for us, and will work for good to us? For all things work together for good to us who love God. And even of the betrayal, Christ said, ”The cup which my Father gave me, shall I not drink it?" We live charmed lives if we are living in the center of God’s will. All the attacks that Satan, through others’ sin, can hurl against us are not only powerless to harm us, but are turned into blessings on the way. — H. W. S.
In the center of the circle
Of the Will of God I stand:
There can come no second causes,
All must come from His dear hand.
All is well! for ’tis my Father
Who my life hath planned.
Shall I pass through waves of sorrow?
Then I know it will be best;
Though I cannot tell the reason,
I can trust, and so am blest.
God is Love, and God is faithful,
So in perfect Peace I rest.
With the shade and with the sunshine,
With the joy and with the pain,
Lord, I trust Thee! both are needed,
Each Thy wayward child to train,
Earthly loss, did we but know it,
Often means our heavenly gain.
