1The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
1וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר אֲלֵהֶם׃
2"Say to the Israelites: 'Of all the animals that live on land, these are the ones you may eat:
2דַּבְּרוּ אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר זֹאת הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר תֹּאכְלוּ מִכָּל־הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
3You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud.
3כֹּל מַפְרֶסֶת פַּרְסָה וְשֹׁסַעַת שֶׁסַע פְּרָסֹת מַעֲלַת גֵּרָה בַּבְּהֵמָה אֹתָהּ תֹּאכֵלוּ׃
4" 'There are some that only chew the cud or only have a split hoof, but you must not eat them. The camel, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is ceremonially unclean for you.
4אַךְ אֶת־זֶה לֹא תֹאכְלוּ מִמַּעֲלֵי הַגֵּרָה וּמִמַּפְרִיסֵי הַפַּרְסָה אֶת־הַגָּמָל כִּי־מַעֲלֵה גֵרָה הוּא וּפַרְסָה אֵינֶנּוּ מַפְרִיס טָמֵא הוּא לָכֶם׃
5The coney, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you.
5וְאֶת־הַשָּׁפָן כִּי־מַעֲלֵה גֵרָה הוּא וּפַרְסָה לֹא יַפְרִיס טָמֵא הוּא לָכֶם׃
6The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you.
6וְאֶת־הָאַרְנֶבֶת כִּי־מַעֲלַת גֵּרָה הִוא וּפַרְסָה לֹא הִפְרִיסָה טְמֵאָה הִוא לָכֶם׃
7And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.
7וְאֶת־הַחֲזִיר כִּי־מַפְרִיס פַּרְסָה הוּא וְשֹׁסַע שֶׁסַע פַּרְסָה וְהוּא גֵּרָה לֹא־יִגָּר טָמֵא הוּא לָכֶם׃
8You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.
8מִבְּשָׂרָם לֹא תֹאכֵלוּ וּבְנִבְלָתָם לֹא תִגָּעוּ טְמֵאִים הֵם לָכֶם׃
9" 'Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales.
9אֶת־זֶה תֹּאכְלוּ מִכֹּל אֲשֶׁר בַּמָּיִם כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־לֹו סְנַפִּיר וְקַשְׂקֶשֶׂת בַּמַּיִם בַּיַּמִּים וּבַנְּחָלִים אֹתָם תֹּאכֵלוּ׃
10But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales-whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water-you are to detest.
10וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר אֵין־לֹו סְנַפִּיר וְקַשְׂקֶשֶׂת בַּיַּמִּים וּבַנְּחָלִים מִכֹּל שֶׁרֶץ הַמַּיִם וּמִכֹּל נֶפֶשׁ הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר בַּמָּיִם שֶׁקֶץ הֵם לָכֶם׃
11And since you are to detest them, you must not eat their meat and you must detest their carcasses.
11וְשֶׁקֶץ יִהְיוּ לָכֶם מִבְּשָׂרָם לֹא תֹאכֵלוּ וְאֶת־נִבְלָתָם תְּשַׁקֵּצוּ׃
12Anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be detestable to you.
12כֹּל אֲשֶׁר אֵין־לֹו סְנַפִּיר וְקַשְׂקֶשֶׂת בַּמָּיִם שֶׁקֶץ הוּא לָכֶם׃
13" 'These are the birds you are to detest and not eat because they are detestable: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture,
13וְאֶת־אֵלֶּה תְּשַׁקְּצוּ מִן־הָעֹוף לֹא יֵאָכְלוּ שֶׁקֶץ הֵם אֶת־הַנֶּשֶׁר וְאֶת־הַפֶּרֶס וְאֵת הָעָזְנִיָּה׃
14the red kite, any kind of black kite,
14וְאֶת־הַדָּאָה וְאֶת־הָאַיָּה לְמִינָהּ׃
15any kind of raven,
15אֵת כָּל־עֹרֵב לְמִינֹו׃
16the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,
16וְאֵת בַּת הַיַּעֲנָה וְאֶת־הַתַּחְמָס וְאֶת־הַשָּׁחַף וְאֶת־הַנֵּץ לְמִינֵהוּ׃
17the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,
17וְאֶת־הַכֹּוס וְאֶת־הַשָּׁלָךְ וְאֶת־הַיַּנְשׁוּף׃
18the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,
18וְאֶת־הַתִּנְשֶׁמֶת וְאֶת־הַקָּאָת וְאֶת־הָרָחָם׃
19the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.
19וְאֵת הַחֲסִידָה הָאֲנָפָה לְמִינָהּ וְאֶת־הַדּוּכִיפַת וְאֶת־הָעֲטַלֵּף׃
20" 'All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you.
20כֹּל שֶׁרֶץ הָעֹוף הַהֹלֵךְ עַל־אַרְבַּע שֶׁקֶץ הוּא לָכֶם׃ ס
21There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground.
21אַךְ אֶת־זֶה תֹּאכְלוּ מִכֹּל שֶׁרֶץ הָעֹוף הַהֹלֵךְ עַל־אַרְבַּע אֲשֶׁר־[כ= לֹא] [ק= לֹו] כְרָעַיִם מִמַּעַל לְרַגְלָיו לְנַתֵּר בָּהֵן עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
22Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper.
22אֶת־אֵלֶּה מֵהֶם תֹּאכֵלוּ אֶת־הָאַרְבֶּה* לְמִינֹו וְאֶת־הַסָּלְעָם לְמִינֵהוּ וְאֶת־הַחַרְגֹּל לְמִינֵהוּ וְאֶת־הֶחָגָב לְמִינֵהוּ׃
23But all other winged creatures that have four legs you are to detest.
23וְכֹל שֶׁרֶץ הָעֹוף אֲשֶׁר־לֹו אַרְבַּע רַגְלָיִם שֶׁקֶץ הוּא לָכֶם׃
24" 'You will make yourselves unclean by these; whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean till evening.
24וּלְאֵלֶּה תִּטַּמָּאוּ כָּל־הַנֹּגֵעַ בְּנִבְלָתָם יִטְמָא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃
25Whoever picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening.
25וְכָל־הַנֹּשֵׂא מִנִּבְלָתָם יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃
26" 'Every animal that has a split hoof not completely divided or that does not chew the cud is unclean for you; whoever touches the carcass of any of them will be unclean.
26לְכָל־הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר הִוא מַפְרֶסֶת פַּרְסָה וְשֶׁסַע אֵינֶנָּה שֹׁסַעַת וְגֵרָה אֵינֶנָּה מַעֲלָה טְמֵאִים הֵם לָכֶם כָּל־הַנֹּגֵעַ בָּהֶם יִטְמָא׃
27Of all the animals that walk on all fours, those that walk on their paws are unclean for you; whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean till evening.
27וְכֹל הֹולֵךְ עַל־כַּפָּיו בְּכָל־הַחַיָּה הַהֹלֶכֶת עַל־אַרְבַּע טְמֵאִים הֵם לָכֶם כָּל־הַנֹּגֵעַ בְּנִבְלָתָם יִטְמָא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃
28Anyone who picks up their carcasses must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening. They are unclean for you.
28וְהַנֹּשֵׂא אֶת־נִבְלָתָם יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעָרֶב טְמֵאִים הֵמָּה לָכֶם׃ ס
29" 'Of the animals that move about on the ground, these are unclean for you: the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard,
29וְזֶה לָכֶם הַטָּמֵא בַּשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ עַל־הָאָרֶץ הַחֹלֶד וְהָעַכְבָּר וְהַצָּב לְמִינֵהוּ׃
30the gecko, the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink and the chameleon.
30וְהָאֲנָקָה וְהַכֹּחַ וְהַלְּטָאָה וְהַחֹמֶט וְהַתִּנְשָׁמֶת׃
31Of all those that move along the ground, these are unclean for you. Whoever touches them when they are dead will be unclean till evening.
31אֵלֶּה הַטְּמֵאִים לָכֶם בְּכָל־הַשָּׁרֶץ כָּל־הַנֹּגֵעַ בָּהֶם בְּמֹתָם יִטְמָא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃
32When one of them dies and falls on something, that article, whatever its use, will be unclean, whether it is made of wood, cloth, hide or sackcloth. Put it in water; it will be unclean till evening, and then it will be clean.
32וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּל־עָלָיו מֵהֶם בְּמֹתָם יִטְמָא מִכָּל־כְּלִי־עֵץ אֹו בֶגֶד אֹו־עֹור אֹו שָׂק כָּל־כְּלִי אֲשֶׁר־יֵעָשֶׂה מְלָאכָה בָּהֶם בַּמַּיִם יוּבָא וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעֶרֶב וְטָהֵר׃
33If one of them falls into a clay pot, everything in it will be unclean, and you must break the pot.
33וְכָל־כְּלִי־חֶרֶשׂ אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּל מֵהֶם אֶל־תֹּוכֹו כֹּל אֲשֶׁר בְּתֹוכֹו יִטְמָא וְאֹתֹו תִשְׁבֹּרוּ׃
34Any food that could be eaten but has water on it from such a pot is unclean, and any liquid that could be drunk from it is unclean.
34מִכָּל־הָאֹכֶל אֲשֶׁר יֵאָכֵל אֲשֶׁר יָבֹוא עָלָיו מַיִם יִטְמָא וְכָל־מַשְׁקֶה אֲשֶׁר יִשָּׁתֶה בְּכָל־כְּלִי יִטְמָא׃
35Anything that one of their carcasses falls on becomes unclean; an oven or cooking pot must be broken up. They are unclean, and you are to regard them as unclean.
35וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּל מִנִּבְלָתָם עָלָיו יִטְמָא תַּנּוּר וְכִירַיִם יֻתָּץ טְמֵאִים הֵם וּטְמֵאִים יִהְיוּ לָכֶם׃
36A spring, however, or a cistern for collecting water remains clean, but anyone who touches one of these carcasses is unclean.
36אַךְ מַעְיָן וּבֹור מִקְוֵה־מַיִם יִהְיֶה טָהֹור וְנֹגֵעַ בְּנִבְלָתָם יִטְמָא׃
37If a carcass falls on any seeds that are to be planted, they remain clean.
37וְכִי יִפֹּל מִנִּבְלָתָם עַל־כָּל־זֶרַע זֵרוּעַ אֲשֶׁר יִזָּרֵעַ טָהֹור הוּא׃
38But if water has been put on the seed and a carcass falls on it, it is unclean for you.
38וְכִי יֻתַּן־מַיִם עַל־זֶרַע וְנָפַל מִנִּבְלָתָם עָלָיו טָמֵא הוּא לָכֶם׃ ס
39" 'If an animal that you are allowed to eat dies, anyone who touches the carcass will be unclean till evening.
39וְכִי יָמוּת מִן־הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר־הִיא לָכֶם לְאָכְלָה הַנֹּגֵעַ בְּנִבְלָתָהּ יִטְמָא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃
40Anyone who eats some of the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening. Anyone who picks up the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening.
40וְהָאֹכֵל מִנִּבְלָתָהּ יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעָרֶב וְהַנֹּשֵׂא אֶת־נִבְלָתָהּ יְכַבֵּס בְּגָדָיו וְטָמֵא עַד־הָעָרֶב׃
41" 'Every creature that moves about on the ground is detestable; it is not to be eaten.
41וְכָל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ עַל־הָאָרֶץ שֶׁקֶץ הוּא לֹא יֵאָכֵל׃
42You are not to eat any creature that moves about on the ground, whether it moves on its belly or walks on all fours or on many feet; it is detestable.
42כֹּל הֹולֵךְ עַל־גָּחֹון וְכֹל הֹולֵךְ עַל־אַרְבַּע עַד כָּל־מַרְבֵּה רַגְלַיִם לְכָל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ עַל־הָאָרֶץ לֹא תֹאכְלוּם כִּי־שֶׁקֶץ הֵם׃
43Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them.
43אַל־תְּשַׁקְּצוּ אֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם בְּכָל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ וְלֹא תִטַּמְּאוּ בָּהֶם וְנִטְמֵתֶם בָּם׃
44I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves about on the ground.
44כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתֶּם וִהְיִיתֶם קְדֹשִׁים כִּי קָדֹושׁ אָנִי וְלֹא תְטַמְּאוּ אֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם בְּכָל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
45I am the LORD who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.
45כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה הַמַּעֲלֶה אֶתְכֶם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם לִהְיֹת לָכֶם לֵאלֹהִים וִהְיִיתֶם קְדֹשִׁים כִּי קָדֹושׁ אָנִי׃
46" 'These are the regulations concerning animals, birds, every living thing that moves in the water and every creature that moves about on the ground.
46זֹאת תֹּורַת הַבְּהֵמָה וְהָעֹוף וְכֹל נֶפֶשׁ הַחַיָּה הָרֹמֶשֶׂת בַּמָּיִם וּלְכָל־נֶפֶשׁ הַשֹּׁרֶצֶת עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃
47You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.' "
47לְהַבְדִּיל בֵּין הַטָּמֵא וּבֵין הַטָּהֹר וּבֵין הַחַיָּה הַנֶּאֱכֶלֶת וּבֵין הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר לֹא תֵאָכֵל׃ ף
1주님께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다.
2"너희는 이스라엘 자손에게 다음과 같이 일러라.땅에서 사는 모든 짐승 가운데서, 너희가 먹을 수 있는 동물은 다음과 같다.
3짐승 가운데서 굽이 갈라진 쪽발이면서 새김질도 하는 짐승은, 모두 너희가 먹을 수 있다.
4새김질을 하거나 굽이 두 쪽으로 갈라졌더라도, 다음과 같은 것은 너희가 먹지 못한다. 낙타는 새김질은 하지만, 굽이 갈라지지 않았으므로 너희에게는 부정한 것이다.
5오소리도 새김질은 하지만, 굽이 갈라지지 않았으므로 너희에게는 부정한 것이다.
6토끼도 새김질은 하지만, 굽이 갈라지지 않았으므로 너희에게는 부정한 것이다.
7돼지는 굽이 두 쪽으로 갈라진 쪽발이기는 하지만, 새김질을 하지 않으므로 너희에게는 부정한 것이다.
8너희는 이런 짐승의 고기는 먹지 말고, 그것들의 주검도 만지지 말아라. 이것들은 너희에게는 부정한 것이다.
9물에서 사는 모든 것 가운데서 지느러미가 있고 비늘이 있는 물고기는, 바다에서 사는 것이든지 강에서 사는 것이든지, 무엇이든지 너희가 먹을 수 있다.
10그러나 물 속에서 우글거리는 고기 떼나 물 속에서 살고 있는 모든 동물 가운데서 지느러미가 없고 비늘이 없는 것은, 바다에서 살든지 강에서 살든지, 모두 너희가 피해야 한다.
11이런 것은 너희가 피해야 할 것이므로, 너희는 그 고기를 먹어서는 안 된다. 너희는 그것들의 주검도 피해야만 한다.
12물에서 사는 것 가운데서 지느러미가 없고 비늘이 없는 것은, 모두 너희가 피해야 한다.
13새 가운데서 너희가 피해야 할 것은 다음과 같다. 곧 너희가 먹지 않고 피해야 할 것은, 독수리와 수염수리와 물수리와
14검은소리개와 각종 붉은소리개와
15각종 모든 까마귀와
16타조와 올빼미와 갈매기와 각종 매와
17부엉이와 가마우지와 따오기와
18백조와 펠리컨과 흰물오리와
19고니와 각종 푸른해오라기와 오디새와 박쥐이다.
20네 발로 걷는 날개 달린 벌레는, 모두 너희가 피해야 할 것이다.
21그러나 네 발로 걷는 날개 달린 곤충가운데서도, 발과 다리가 있어서, 땅 위에서 뛸 수 있는 것은, 모두 너희가 먹어도 된다.
22너희가 먹을 수 있는 것은 여러 가지 메뚜기와 방아깨비와 누리와 귀뚜라미같은 것이다.
23이 밖에 네 발로 걷는 날개 달린 벌레는, 모두 너희가 피해야 할 것이다.
24이런 것들이 너희를 부정 타게 한다. 그런 것들의 주검을 만지는 사람은 누구나 저녁때까지 부정하다.
25그 주검을 옮기는 사람은 누구나 자기 옷을 빨아야 한다. 그는 저녁때까지 부정하다.
26굽이 있어도 갈라지지 않았거나 새김질하지 않는 짐승은, 모두 너희에게는 부정한 것이다. 그것들을 만지는 사람은 누구나 부정하게 된다.
27네 발로 걷는 모든 짐승 가운데서 발바닥으로 다니는 것은, 모두 너희에게 부정한 것이다. 그런 짐승의 주검을 만지는 사람은 누구나 저녁때까지 부정하다.
28그 주검을 옮기는 사람은 누구나 자기 옷을 빨아야 한다. 그는 저녁때까지 부정하다. 그런 것들이 너희를 부정 타게 한다.
29땅에 기어 다니는 길짐승 가운데서 너희에게 부정한 것은, 족제비와 쥐와 각종 큰도마뱀과
30수종과 육지악어와 도마뱀과 모래도마뱀과 카멜레온이다.
31모든 길짐승 가운데서 이런 것들은 너희에게 부정한 것이다. 이것들이 죽었을 때에, 그것들을 만지는 사람은 누구나 저녁때까지 부정하다.
32이것들이 죽었을 때에, 나무로 만든 어떤 그릇에나, 옷에나, 가죽에나, 자루에나, 여러 가지로 쓰이는 각종 그릇에나, 이런 것에 떨어져서 닿으면, 그 그릇들은 모두 부정을 탄다. 이렇게 부정을 탄 것은 물에 담가야 한다. 그것은 저녁때까지 부정하다. 저녁이 지나고 나면, 그것은 정하게 된다.
33그 죽은 것이 어떤 오지그릇에 빠지면, 그 그릇 안에 있는 것은 다 부정하게 된다. 너희는 그 그릇을 깨뜨려야 한다.
34요리가 된 젖은 음식이 그 안에 있었다면, 그것도 모두 부정하게 된다. 어떤 그릇에 담겼든지, 물이나 다른 마실 것은 모두 부정을 탄다.
35이런 것들의 주검이 어떤 물건에 떨어지면, 그 물건은 부정을 탄다. 가마든지, 화로든지, 모두 깨뜨려야 한다. 그것들은 부정해서, 너희까지도 부정을 타게 할 것이다.
36그렇지만 샘과 물웅덩이와 물이 고인 곳은, 정한 채로 남아 있다. 그러나 그것들의 주검을 만지면, 누구나 부정을 탄다.
37뿌리려는 어떤 씨에 이런 것들의 주검이 떨어져도, 그 씨는 부정을 타지 않는다.
38그러나 그 씨가 물에 젖어 있을 때에, 이런 것들의 주검이 그 씨에 떨어지면, 그 씨는 너희에게는 부정한 것이 된다.
39너희가 먹을 수 있는 짐승이 죽었을 때에, 그 주검을 만진 사람은 저녁때까지 부정하다.
40죽은 고기를 먹은 사람은 입고 있던 옷을 빨아 입어야 한다. 그의 부정한 상태는 저녁때까지 계속된다. 그 주검을 옮기는 사람도 옷을 빨아 입어야 한다. 그 경우에도 그 부정한 상태는 저녁때까지 계속된다.
41땅에 기어 다니는 모든 길짐승은 꺼려야 한다. 그것들을 먹어서는 안 된다.
42기어 다니는 것, 곧 배로 기어 다니든지, 네 발로나 여러 발로 땅을 기어 다니는 것은, 모두 너희가 먹지 못한다. 그것은 피해야 할 것이기 때문이다.
43너희는, 기어 다니는 어떤 길짐승에든 닿아, 너희 자신을 꺼려야 할 사람이 되게 하여서는 안 된다. 너희는 그런 것으로 자신을 더럽혀 부정을 타서는 안 된다. 그것들이 너희를 더럽히지 못하도록 하여라.
44나는 주 너희의 하나님이다. 그러므로 너희는 몸을 구별하여 바쳐서, 거룩한 사람이 되어야 한다. 내가 거룩하니, 너희도 거룩하게 되어야 한다. 땅에 기어 다니는 어떤 길짐승 때문에, 너희가 자신을 부정하게 하여서는 안 된다.
45나는 너희 하나님이 되려고, 너희를 이집트 땅에서 데리고 나온 주다. 내가 거룩하니, 너희도 거룩하게 되어야 한다.
46위에서 말한 것은, 짐승과 새와 물 속에서 우글거리는 모든 고기 떼와 땅에 기어 다니는 모든 것에 관한 규례다.
47이것은 부정한 것과 정한 것을 구별하고, 먹을 수 있는 동물과 먹을 수 없는 동물을 구별하려고 만든 규례다."
